Superman/Batman: The XANA Conspiracy

Chapter Six - Preparations

As the XANA controlled Amazo began making it's way to the Factory, Batman begins preparing for XANA's arrival. The first thing he does is calls upon the Batwing to aid Superman in halting Amazo for as long as possible. As he does so, Batman approaches Jeremy.

Batman: Has your Team reached the Tower?

Jeremy: Not yet. I'm detecting a large presence of XANA's Monsters guarding the Tower. XANA's not not taking any chances. Getting to the Tower is going to be tough.

Batman quickly surveys the screen showing the large concentration of XANA's Monsters. It was clear that XANA was attempting to overwhelm the Lyoko Warriors to no doubt by XANA time to arrive at the Factory and destroy the Supercomputer. Wasting no time, Batman hands Jeremy a device.

Batman: Insert this into the Supercomputer. It will take a minute for the program to download. It will cut off communications between you and the Lyoko Warriors so I suggest you contact them before beginning the download.

Jeremy: What will this do?

Batman: Even the odds against XANA.

Jeremy: Does that mean you'll be going into Lyoko? We still have your signature in the Supercomputer.

Batman: There's no time for that. It won't be long until Amazo arrives at the Factory. Superman is trying to delay Amazo's arrival, but it won't last long. Superman's going to need a hand.

Jeremy: But....but how are you going to take down Amazo! If Superman is having trouble with him, then how will you fare any better?

Batman: Let me worry about that. Just focus on deactivating that Tower. Superman and I will make sure Amazo doesn't reach the Factory.

With that, Batman leaves the Supercomputer Room while Jeremy prepares the device. Before doing so, Jeremy contacts the Lyoko Warriors.

Jeremy: Guys, I got bad news. XANA's on his way to the Factory. Batman and Superman are going to try and hold XANA off for as long as possible.

Aelita(Communicator): Then we won't delay.

Jeremy: That's not all. XANA's has an entire army of Monsters surrounding the Tower.

Ulrich(Communicator): How many are we talking here?

Jeremy: According to my scanners, at least a hundred. Maybe more.

Odd(Communicator): Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse. I take it you got a plan, Einstein?

Jeremy: Just before he left, Batman handed me a device with some kind of program. Said it would even the odds. But as soon as I begin downloading the program, I'll be unable to communicate with you.

Aelita(Communicator): We understand. We'll do what we can.

After that, Jeremy looked at the device Batman had given him. He didn't know what this device would do once the program was downloaded onto the Supercomputer. Despite having his own reservations about this, Jeremy plugs the device into the Supercomputer. He then begins downloading the program onto the device. Back in the Ice Sector, the Lyoko Warriors were closing in on the real Tower. When they reached the activated Tower, they found hundreds of XANA's Monsters guarding the Tower.

Odd: Holy crap! That's a lot of Monsters!

Ulrich: Looks like XANA's spared no expense.

Yumi: There's no way we can take on all those Monsters! We'd get devirtualized before we even made a dent!

Aelita surveyed the area where both the Tower and XANA's Monsters were. There were plenty of structures that could be used to take out multiple groups of XANA's Monsters, but that would still leave them hopelessly outnumbered.

Aelita: If we're going to win this, we need to be smart. We don't know how long it will take until the program is finished unloading.

Odd: This would be a whole lost easier if Batman and Superman were on Lyoko. They'd probably wipe the floor with XANA's Monsters.

Ulrich: But then that would just leave Jeremy to fend off against a XANA controlled Amazo. You know, a killer robot with the powers of the entire Justice League at his disposal.

Odd: Okay....I see your point....

Yumi: What's the plan, Aelita?

Aelita: We can thin out some of XANA's monsters by using those ice structures. A head on attack will be suicide. Ulrich, you can use your Triplicate to sew confusion within XANA's Monsters. We'll have to pick them off one by one while avoiding detection. The best thing we can do is to hold out for as long as we can until the download is complete.

Odd: This ought to be interesting.....

As the Lyoko Warriors prepared for the battle against XANA's Monsters, Batman exited the Factory. He could already see the air battle between Superman and the XANA controlled Amazo. The Batwing could be seen firing on the XANA controlled Amazo. It wasn't long until Jeremy contacts Batman.

Jeremy(Communicator): Batman, the device has begun downloading the program onto the Supercomputer. It's going to take some time.

Batman: Once the program is uploaded, those Monsters won't be a problem. Just make sure your team deactivates that Tower.

Jeremy(Communicator): Good luck, Batman.

As the call ended, Batman looked up to the sky to see Superman battling against the XANA controlled Amazo while getting support from the Batwing. Batman then prepares his Grapnel Gun and uses the boost to propel himself into the sky. Batman then calls on the Batwing to pick him up. Once he's inside the Batwing, he begins piloting towards Superman and the XANA controlled Amazo. In that moment, Batman had made all the preparations that he could. Now all that was left was for the final battle.
