A/N : I'm very excited to start this book to talk about my random R5 related thoughts and see what everyone else thinks. I don't really have any R5 friends so I don't really have anyone to talk about this stuff with.
I was rewatching R5 All Day All Night on YouTube earlier and part of it talked about how Stormie and Mark moved them all out to California because Riker was going to find some way to move out there when he turned 18 because he wanted to do something in entertainment. And they wanted to keep the family together. I find it ironic that Riker's now living back in Colorado.
Like, they moved the whole family out to California for HIM, to keep them all together, and he just ended up moving back to Colorado anyway.
Do we even know the reason for him moving back to Colorado?
At least he has some family in Colorado he can hang out with. I believe I saw that in one of the hockey leagues he's in, his cousin Boston Crone is on his team, so there's that.
I guess he plays for 2 leagues right now? The Breck Vipers and The Black Aces. I don't know if he's ever been in a hockey league before or if he's just played with his family. But I saw clips on the Breck Vipers' Instagram of one of the games he played in and one of the guys was literally attacking another guy. And sometimes I wonder if he realized that hockey players can be aggressive like that. Maybe he's just used to playing nice friendly games with his family. I told my mom and she said, he wouldn't want anyone to mess up his pretty face haha.
I looked up The Black Aces, which was very hard to find because there are a million different things with the name The Black Aces. But it seems like they have 2 different divisions, the blue and burgundy, which is funny because neither of those are black. So they're not really The Black Aces. They're either The Blue Aces or The Burgundy Aces lol.
I'm guessing he and Boston play for the blue league because on instagram they were wearing blue jerseys. The burgundy division is the higher division and is for "elite" or "advanced" players. And the blue division is for beginner and intermediate players with less than a year or two of experience or 3-5 years of experience, so I'm wondering why he's in that one when he's been playing hockey for basically his whole life.
I guess I'm just wondering why he moved back to Colorado in the first place. In my mind, being in Colorado would just make it harder for him and his career. How is he going to act and direct from Colorado? Music doesn't seem like an issue since Rocky and Ross are doing their own thing, and he's doing his own thing. Which by the way, side note, I noticed on iTunes that his name is now listed as Riker Lynch, not Riker and the Beachcombers, which is what I'm pretty sure it used to be listed as, and I'm confused why that's changed now.
Sometimes I also wonder what Stormie and Mark think about it. Obviously, Riker is an adult and can live wherever he wants to. But I wonder if they're ever disappointed that he moved back or if they regret moving to California in the first place. Because maybe if they had stayed in Colorado, Riker would've gone to California when he was 18, and then eventually moved back. Who knows?
I feel like if they stayed in Colorado, there's a good chance they would still live there. Ross wouldn't have been on Austin and Ally. They wouldn't have met Ellington at The Rage. They probably wouldn't have signed with a record label. They probably still would've done music in some way, but maybe at just local things in Colorado.
It's fun to think of all the different scenarios of stuff like this, and that's exactly why I'm a fanfiction writer. But sometimes I wish I knew more information about certain things or I wish I could just straight up ask the Lynchs questions. Otherwise I just have to come up with my own explanations or use my imagination for fanfiction.
A/N : It just dawned on me that Riker has an insta story up right now where he's asking for questions for his podcast, which I wish he was still putting on YouTube. But I was like duh, let me ask some of these things lol. So I asked him, why did he move back to Colorado, did he wish he went to college for writing/directing/filming, does living in Colorado make his career harder, and then not a question, but told him that I wished his podcast was still on YouTube. Also thought of another one and asked him if R5 or 36TD will ever make a comeback. If you know you know haha.
