Brian took Francesca's parents back to their house with him, when both were crying helplessly the whole drive, and Brian just wanted to be silent for a good several hours. But, he knew he wouldn't be able to do it.
He dropped them off and got out of the car himself too. "Did you see? What kind of person he is. You shouldn't have gone there by yourself, no.." He said to them seriously.
"How could we have not? We wanted to try for once-"
"That's what I'm talking about. Try what? You can't convince him even in your afterlife. You saw him, right? He takes everyone lower than him as insects which he would crush under his foot. He never cared, or would never care about anyone other than his own family. And him."
Both began to look at him in shock. He walked closer to them and said reassuringly. "Don't lose your life from that ******, please. I don't want to lose you. For her, don't go there again. She should be aware of the fact that I would be there for her family, for her and live for the day she'll be happy again. So, please don't try again."
Both nodded with tears in their eyes and Brian continued telling them with so much seriousness in his voice. "I promise in my life that I will save her from him. So, you'll have to wait even if it'll be the most painful thing for all of us."
After a while, when both began to walk inside, he saw Ebert at the door who listened to their talks. Ebert didn't know that they went to John but couldn't have done anything to stop them or do anything about it anyway. Brian just stared at him for a few seconds and turned to leave without saying anything, but saw Meredith behind him. Ebert let his parents go inside then came to them, because she came when he was there.
"Meredith? What are you doing here?" Brian asked.
Ebert stayed quiet and she began to say, "We wanted to stop both of you from going there, that's why I came here. So we could go together."
Brian frustratingly walked closer to her, "Yes. Why didn't he stop them before they went there and do it now?"
She stepped closer as well and said cautiously, "Because he didn't know about it, Brian. I told him, alright?" He didn't say anything then, and she continued. "And I know you also went there for them otherwise you also don't have to take a glance at his place for even a second!"
"Why shouldn't I go there, Meredith? Whenever his face comes on my mind there is only one thought, he shouldn't exist. And I am capable of killing him so I will do it thousands of times when I get the chance."
She made a helpless face, "But, Brian, your life is at-"
He stood straight and began to tell her calmly, "He won't do anything to me. He won't kill me. He wants something else from me, that's what I know. And," He held her arm and turned to Ebert, "You won't be coming here again, that's what I know too."
She was in disbelief, "Huh?-"
"Yes."
Ebert walked in front of him, "Why can't she come here? I know you are angry with me, but-"
"I'm not angry with you, Ebert. I don't want me and my family to have any relations with you, you get that?"
Now both of them looked at him with the same expressions and Ebert tried to say something which could stop him from doing this, this has never happened since they met. Brian turned to leave, not leaving her arm.
"What are you doing? You can't cut all ties with him, Brian. He has always saved you from your enemies and even from John Bernard when he was after you. He was always at your back and you even more can't leave him because you are in love with his sister."
