A few days passed and I spent much of my time inside the castle, meeting the other high-ranking guards, exploring the castle
and spending most of my time with my mates. Since it has been a few days, I already feel that our bond is getting stronger each time that passes by
everyone in the castle has also been kind and nice towards me, I found out that I was not the only human; instead
they also have a human chef in the kitchen who serves my meals every day since vampires don't eat. I decided to visit him while my mates were away for their duties
Jane and Alec stayed beside me while the three of us walked together in the hallway. My mates assigned them with Demetri and Felix to be my guard
but I don't need them to watch me every day so I only let two of them stay while the other gets to have time for themselves.
My bond with the twins is also going pretty well, they got more protective and caring towards me, like what my mates do. But I didn't mind, I felt happier that they were with me
" Here we are, " Alec says as I walk inside and finally get to see the kitchen
there were lots of kitchen counters and supplies, and I was surprised to see fresh produce of meats and vegetables on the shelves.
Then a guy came out from a room, wearing an apron around his waist. He had brown long hair and same brown eyes that matched his light tan skin, when he saw me. He immediately bowed his head down
" M-my queen! " He says and looks up at me and smiles worriedly when he notices that Jane and Alec are not far away
" Y-you shouldn't be here! The kings forbidden you to be in here, this is not a place for you " He continues as I walk further around the kitchen to see he is already cooking a soup in the boiling pot
" nonsense, just call me Claudia, and you are? " I asked and took a spoon, carefully tasting the soup. He looks at me nervously
" Michael, my name is Michael, and I'm the only chef here in the kitchen " He explains and wipes off his hand on the apron, I set the spoon down on the counter and smile at him
"I love this one! You're a great cook, Michael " I complimented to notice that his cheeks turned pink, and looked away, a big smile spread across his face
"No one has ever complimented me before, b-but thank you, Claudia" Michael said
I looked around the kitchen and grabbed an apron as I put it around me, making them look shocked
"Mom- I mean Claudia! You can't cook " Jane protested as I raised my eyebrow at her
" And why can't I? " I asked and Michael looked between us nervously, this was the problem that I began facing while staying in the castle.
My mates didn't want me to do small things that I used to do before, someone had to be there to do the things I wanted to do, and it started to annoy me. Alec opens his mouth to speak but I cut him off
"I want to do what I want to do, I don't care what my mates say, I'll have this conversation with them later, for now. Let me cook my meal with Michael " I said
trying to sound as strict as I could as the twins both shared a look before finally letting me. I gave them a soft smile and turned to Michael
the both of us started as he began explaining to me what to do, carefully and gently.
I grabbed a knife and started chopping the vegetables on the cutting board while Michael instructed me how to make the Classic Stuffed Peppers that I requested
"B-be careful there," he said
and pointed out at the knife I was holding, I nodded and took a piece of the bell pepper and ate it, I could feel the twins watching every second of my move but im not complaining since they let me do what I want. Michael turned on the stereo box as soft music began playing
"I like to listen to music while I cook " he continues as I send him a smile
"I like to do it too before, I always used to cook for me and my mom. She can't cook so I handle the meal for us " I say and Michael looks up at me
" you do? " he asks and I take a deep breath and nod.
"I do, whenever we have money left. I used to work in a convenience store every day to earn money, since my mom doesn't have a job, I have to provide everything " I continued explaining and Michael looked at me apologetically
"I'm sorry to hear that, that must be difficult for a young woman like you. I-I have no other work than this, I live here in Volterra all by myself and I was happy that the kings accepted me when I needed the job the most " Michael says and we continue talking while the twins listen
I gave him the chopped ingredients and he thanked me, after a while we began stuffing the components inside the peppers. Laughing with Michael, until our moment was cut off
" What is this madness? " The both of us jumped
and turned to see my three mates standing outside the kitchen doorway looking jealous and irritated as the twins immediately stood from their seats
" m-masters, we tried to stop her but- "
"it's not their fault and you shouldn't put the blame on the twins or Michael, i want to do the things I want to do without anyone doing it for me. If I want to cook for myself, prepare a bath for myself, get ready by myself, then let me " I cut off Jane and slowly walked in front of my mates as I crossed my arms in my chest, their expressions were replaced with softness
" but mia cara- "
" no, I don't want to hear anything about it Marcus. I stayed here in the castle with you, but that doesn't mean you have to stop me from doing simple things I want to do... I know how you three are very protective of me that now im here, but I can promise that im careful " I said, my voice turning gentle while I talked to my mates.
" she's right brothers, we have to let our mate do what she wants to do around, " Aro says, a smile spread across my face and I let my arms fall
"You are right, anymore. We're sorry " Caius apologized and pulled me closer to his chest as i couldn't help but not to chuckle
" i-its alright, I know how you three get too protective of me," I said as my two other mates turned to me and smiled.
when I turned back to the kitchen, I saw the three of them looking at me and were shocked
I laughed at their expressions and removed my apron. At that same time, I spent my time with my mates
