I stared at the shining and yet breathtaking crown meters away from me. Placed inside a glass box and located in a room somewhere in the castle, that is strictly forbidden to go in

Something in this crown leaves some of the vampires in question. Who is it for?

It's clearly for the right queen of the vampires, but now that King Aro and King Caius found themselves wives, none of them has ever touched or worn the crown that is in front of me right now

Three thousand years ago, a witch was meant to be executed in front of the kings since she almost revealed our secret in a village filled with humans.

It was a dangerous act, so the kings decided to have her killed.

I was there, right in my eyes that the witch showed King Aro a vision that shocks him, but also made him and his brothers happy.

But since the witch's act is against the law, they killed her and returned to the castle. No one knows about what the witch showed them

But since then, the three kings made a crown for someone. And explained to us that it was for their mate, the queen of Volturi.

Decades have passed and I see that the kings are getting impatient in waiting for their mates, so they decide to find their selves a wives. They become the queen of Volturi but none of them are nice or treat their guards responsibly, no one likes them.

We couldn't see what the kings love about them, but we can't question it or else they'll have our heads. To our surprise, none of them ever worn the crown even once

Athenadora, King Caius's wife once tried to steal the crown. But when the two brothers sounded out, they were mad and almost killed her since she wouldn't listen to them.

But now, the crown remains untouched inside this room that has guards watching over outside.

" ahh, Jane. You're here again "

I turned around and faced King Aro who looking at me, I immediately lowered my head

" I'm sorry Master, I was just looking if the crown is still here " I explained. But Master only lets out a chuckle and walks close to the crown

" it's alright Jane, there's nothing to apologize about " He reassured. I watch him silently stare at the crown, and I know I have to leave so I leave the room and go back to my duties and meet up with my twin brother, Alec

Claudia pov

After a few hours of the flight. I found myself in the back of the yellow sports car

Alice drove and pointed out the city of Volterra to us, while Bella was panicking in her seat. She noticed that Alice had a vision and decided to ask her

" what? What did you see? "

"They refused him... He's gonna make a scene. Show himself to the humans " Alice explained and glanced at Bella, as I sat back even more at the seat, trying to figure all this out in my head

" no! When? " Bella asks

" he's gonna wait until noon when the sun is at its highest " She replies and looks down as Bella demands her to hurry up

I won't lie when the Volterra is a breathtaking city, I kept my eyes in the window to see the houses pass by, Alice began honking everyone in the way as I noticed that all the people were wearing red cloaks

" San Marco's festival. They're commemorating the explosion of vampires in the city, it's a perfect setting. The Volturi will never let him get far enough to reveal himself " Alice continued speaking and something inside of me sparked when hearing the word 'Volturi'

And I guessed it was the closest royalty they have in their vampire world. Alice stops when the officers stop the car,

Bella rushes outside and Alice explains to her where to go, I can't help but not get worried as I watch Bella run away through the crowd.

" here Claudia, it's best if you wear it," Alice says and turns to me as she removes her scarf from her neck and sunglasses.

I didn't hesitate to put them on and we both got out of the car, the two officers looked at us but she grabbed my hand and we ran together

There were lots of people in the streets that we had to squeeze through, but then we were blocked when everyone cheered and watched the San Marcos statue pass by.

Alice pulled me to the side of the street to see a small alleyway, suddenly she leaned herself down in front of me

" hop in my back! " she exclaimed

" Alic- " she cuts me off

" just hop in! "

And so I did what she said, she held my two legs protectively around her and I let out a squeal when Alice used her vampire speed.

When we arrived outside the clock tower, she placed me down and my head was a little bit dizzy from what she did

"Whatever happens, stay behind me Claudia, don't go away " She reminded me and I nodded my head. Alice breaks the lock of the gate and we both walk inside

I felt my breath hitch when I saw two vampires with red eyes standing meters away from us, they both had a smirk on their faces as one of them was tall and bulky.

My eyes trail to Edward to see him looking at me with furrowed eyebrows, he pulls Bella protectively in his chest and looks at Alice

" come on guys, it's a festival, you wouldn't want to make a scene," Alice said calmly as I listened to her and stayed behind. I noticed that the two vampire males glanced at me curiously before looking back at the group

" We wouldn't, " The tall man says, his voice was deep and husky like I imagined.

We watch as a young-looking girl walks into the hallway, she has red eyes and blond hair.

I didn't know why but when I looked for her longer, I felt something in my chest that I couldn't explain. I just want to embrace her I'm my arms and let her feel what it's like to have someone beside her

" enough," she says sharply. The two Cullen siblings looked down at the ground when the girl came

" Jane. " Edward acknowledged

" Aro sent me to see what's taking so long " she continues and glances at me for a few seconds before walking away. Alice whispered to me to do what she said as we followed Jane inside the building.

I felt nervous when the talk guard was walking behind me, I tightly clenched my hands around Alice's shoulder as we went straight inside the elevator. It was silent and awkward for everyone, no one dared to speaks

Bella glanced at the both of us as the door opened and we stepped outside.

A human stood from her desk and greeted us with a smile, speaking something in Italian that I couldn't understand

Now I know how serious everything is
