On their way to the gym, Y/N and Cynthia ends up at an odd-looking mansion where they stop to ask directions, though it appears to be deserted. Cynthia leans against a wall and falls through it. Y/N knocks on the wall and it is revealed to be a secret door, in which they quickly locate Cynthia. Suddenly, a Venonat appears. It hops away, so they decide to follow it. However, Y/N runs into a small series of mishaps, such as being electrocuted by a Voltorb, colliding into an invisible wall, nearly falling off a ledge because of a wall trap and being pinned to another wall by several throwing stars. Then, a girl, who identifies herself as a ninja warrior Aya, jumps from the ceiling. Before claiming that she will not let the group go until she and Y/N have a battle; he accepts the one-on-one match.
Aya sends out Venonat and Y/N send out his Lucario. Lucario used extreme speed to over power venonat, knocking it out.
Aya recalls Venonat as well Y/N recalls Lucario, just as a Voltorb appears and uses Self-Destruct, filling the room with smoke. Koga appears, explains that they are at the Fuchsia Gym, reveals that he is the gym leader, introduces Aya as his younger sister, and announces that he will battle Y/N and not let the group go until he does. Y/N states his intentions of wanting to find the Gym and challenge Koga, and Koga shows him a Soul Badge that he can earn by defeating him.
Y/N sends in his Charizard, and Koga responds by sending out his own Venonat, which promptly evolved into Venomoth. Koga orders Venomoth to use Stun Spore, and Y/N orders Charizard to use Flamethrower destroyed the stun spore before hitting Venomoth making it fainted.
Koga second pokemon is a Golbat, and he makes the first move, swooping on Y/N's Charizard with a wing attack. Charizard keeps Golbat away with his Flamethrower attack, though Koga responds with Screech. Despite the high frequency, Charizard launches a series of Flamethower attacks, burning Golbat's wing in the process. Charizard then wins the battle with an intense . Koga promptly gives Y/N a Soul Badge in recognition of Charizard's battle skill and the couple goes on their way.

Few days later
After a long journey riding charizard to Cinnabar island for Y/N's next gym battle, they finally arrived. When they reached the place is already night time, so Y/N and Cynthia mull over the riddle in the hot springs. It unwittingly activates a secret switch that moves a boulder, exposing a cave and knocking down the hot springs' gender separation screen. After quickly getting their clothes back on, Y/N and Cynthia explore the secret cave and find a metal door that is hot to the touch. Beyond the door, they find Blaine's secret Gym, suspended over the Cinnabar Island volcano. The local suddenly appears, revealing himself to be Blaine, who accepts Y/N's challenge.
The Gym battle begins as a three-on-three battle. Y/N decides to start off with Greninja, while Blaine counters with a Ninetails. Y/N can sense that this ninetails is strong so he told greninja to not hold back. Greninja attack with water shuriken but ninetails dodge most of them, but that didn't stopped them, greninja get behind ninetails that dodging the attacks and use Hydro Pump. Ninetails barely standing and used fire spin that greninja counter with water shuriken before end it with night slash.
Blaine send out his next pokemon which is a Ryhorn, battle started by ryhorn used Horn Drill. Y/N told greninja to use one powerful water shuriken that push Ryhorn to a wall knocking it out.
Blaine send out his last pokemon, a magmar. Magmar used fire punch while greninja use arial ace to counter the attacks, magmar saw an opening and hit greninja. Greninja stand up and use water shuriken that magmar counter with fire spin, with the same strategy as before greninja go behind magmar and use hydro pump ending it up.
Having won the battle, Y/N proceeds to congratulate Greninja and return him. Still, Y/N had earned his Volcano Badge and leaves soon after.
In the Gym, Y/N and Cynthia, challenges the Gym Leader Agatha, an elite four member that take care the gym as well, she accepts his challenge, and the referee announce the battle will consist of three Pokemon. Y/N chooses Lucario and she responds by selecting Golbat.
Agatha commences with a shadow ball attack, and Y/N responds with Aura Sphere, and like Y/N expected it's equal, then Y/N ordered to use sword dance before using Thunder Punch. This sends Golbat flying backward into the wall, defeated.
Agatha then chooses Gengar, she resumes with a Dark Pulse. Lucario dodges the attack and perform Aura Sphere followed by Power Up Punch, knocking it out.
Agatha send out her last pokemon which is an Arbok, she order Arbok to use poison sting and lucario counter it with aura sphere and hit arbok with a power up punch from behind knocking it out.
Agatha give him the badge. Y/N thank you and leave with his wife.

In A Hotel...
Cynthia : *just finished taking bath* What are you planning to do soon dear? Are you participating in kanto league?
Y/N : Yes, I gonna get the title
Cynthia : If i remember, kanto don't have a champion.
Y/N : I know, no need to worry. I can win. But in the mean time let's go back to our house
The next morning they finished pack all their things and go home.

Now, the kanto pokemon league.
After battles Y/N win the tournament and challenge lance for his title. All the battles are three on three.
The First Elite Four, Bruno. In the battle Bruno used Onix, Hitmonchan and Primeape.
The Second Elite Four, Lorelei. In the battle Lorelei used Cloyster, Dewgong and Poliwhirl.
The Third Elite Four, Agatha. Agatha used the same pokemon as before for the gym battle.
The Forth Elite Four also the champion of Johto, Lance. In the battle Lance used Dragonite, Hydreigon, and Gyarados.
After the battles, Lance bring Y/N to the hall of fame where he get registered as the new champion of Kanto Region.
