Trey's party definitely set the tone for what would be talked about at school for the rest of the week. Emily and Trey exchanged numbers at his party and so far things have been going good. Emily never really expected herself to like someone like Trey, but she did. You could say that she finally came to her senses and realized that there was a small part of her that had liked him for a while, but she let her judgment about his friend group cloud her mind.

Emily always found Trey attractive like most girls. He stood at 6'3, with clear brown skin and nice teeth. He always looked good in any outfit he put on, especially when he would wear sweats and a hoodie. Trey was on the basketball and baseball team and he had plenty of scouts coming to his games and practices for both sports.

Some would think that Trey is putting on front by hanging out with the people he hangs out with, but what they don't know is that Malachi is his cousin and Trey's aunt was hoping that by those two becoming closer, Trey would be able to mold Malachi's character to be a better person, but that didn't happen.

Trey was also very smart and that was one of the main things that caught Emily's attention about him. Emily and Trey left campus to get food from Chick-fil-A for lunch. They really enjoyed each other's company, but wanted to take it slow. Trey was almost done with high school and it was time to really think about what university he wanted to go to or if he could get drafted right out of high school to play pro baseball.

In the middle of their lunch date, Armani texts Emily. "Sorry it's Armani. Let me make sure everything is good with her." Emily told Trey as she started texting her back.

"Is everything good?" Trey asked. Emily assured him everything was good and only told him a snippet of what was going on. Trey nodded his head in agreement with Emily about her best friend's situation and left it alone.

They cleared their table off and headed back to school. "Hey, I have a question about Malachi." Emily told Trey in the car.

"Alright about what?"

"Well Armani wanted to know if she should even consider talking to him, but I told her it's not a good idea." Trey took a minute to respond, but when he did, he didn't hold anything back about his cousin.

"Malachi and I are cousins, but no one knows that. He was terrible growing up. I remember my aunt and uncle having to constantly whoop him because he would just get into shit for no reason. But when we were 11 his mom died from an illness she had been dealing with for a while and after she passed, something in Malachi just switched and he became this evil person. My uncle sent him to live with our grandpa in Virginia who then sent him to a military camp, but none of that worked. Then he ended up with my mom and dad, but he didn't like the rules so he moved in with some drug dealers from around the way and been there ever since."

Emily was completely baffled at the story Trey told her about Malachi. She honestly knew he wasn't a good guy, but this really confirmed her ideas about him. "Oh wow well thanks for telling me. Mani is just having a hard time understanding that about him, but I think this will make up her mind."

"Just don't mention the thing about us being related. No one is supposed to know and I trust you so I told you. Let's keep that between us for now." Trey said as they pulled into the school parking lot.

"I won't tell her just yet. I promise." Emily said as she stuck her pinky out for Trey to lock his with hers.

"That's cute" he said as he went along with the pinky promise anyway. The two parted ways going into the school to finish out their day.

"What Brian? I'm not giving you a second chance." Armani said, answering her phone.

"Mani come outside we need to talk."
She rolled her eyes but for whatever reason went outside anyway to see what he wanted.

"This couldn't wait until tomorrow? I'm tryna get ready for bed." She said getting into the passenger seat of his car.

"Please just listen to me. I need to tell you something important."

Brian began giving his spill on how much he loved Armani and apologized a bunch of times for cheating on her. "Armani, I wasn't thinking when I cheated on you and with Natasha was even dumber." Natasha was another one of Armani and Emily's childhood friends, but she was always jealous of Armani. Armani is still a virgin and was close to losing it to Brian, but it didn't happen because Brian was thinking with his dick. His only excuse as to why he even cheated on Armani was because she broke her leg and didn't want to have sex until she was married.

That day Armani left Brian's house crying wanting to kill him and Natasha, but instead she hopped in the car and went home. Hearing Brian talk about him cheating really triggered Armani and she was crying without realizing.

"Brian I really don't need to hear anymore. I have already forgiven you and want to move past this. But I want you to know, you can try as hard as you want to win me back but it'll never happen." Armani said, wiping the tears from her eyes.

Brian was extremely hurt but he knew she was going to say that. He nodded his head in understanding and just as Armani was getting out of the car she said "It's sad that I still love you even after all the hurt and crying." She shook her head in disappointment and made her way into her house.

She sat down at the kitchen table waiting on her food to warm up and AJ popped around the corner. "What you doing up this late?" Armani asked her youngest brother.

"I'm not tired. I honestly don't want to go to school tomorrow, but you know mom and dad won't let me skip. What you doing up?"

"Kinda sad it's nothing serious tho" Armani replied not giving her brother much information.

"I may be 13 but I know a thing or two. Some stupid boy I'm guessing?" AJ replied and he was absolutely right. For her brother to be 13 he was wise beyond his years and no one in the family knows where he got it from. AJ made him a bowl of fruit while Armani gave him slight details on what happened with her and Brian.

"Well I think you should never get back with someone that steps out of your relationship. Mom and dad have been together since they were your age yet dad never broke moms heart or decided he wanted to test the waters with another woman."

AJ continued, "You know dad would tell you the same thing. Aden too. So why not listen to us Settles men and don't get back with that loser Mani."

Armani really had to take in everything that her brother was saying. She never thought that she would be taking advice from a 13 year old but there she was doing exactly that.

"Well Junior you're right. Since you helped me out tonight, how about we spend the day together. We can skip one day, mom and dad know we truly aren't missing anything." Armani said while giving her brother a hug.

"That's a bet. You wanna watch Steven Universe downstairs?" AJ asked and Armani smiled following him into the basement to watch their favorite show together.
