Two Days Later
It was Saturday morning and Trey was making his way to Emily's house for breakfast. This weekend it was her turn to cook breakfast instead of them going out to eat. Trey rang the doorbell just in time as Emily had just finished placing the food on the table.
She quickly wiped her hands off but before reaching the door, her grandma, Mama Cindy, had opened the door. "Oh hey baby come on in. Breakfast is about ready." Mama Cindy said giving Trey a big hug.
"Go ahead and wash your hands so you can eat. You want some tea or coffee?" Mama Cindy asked Trey.
"I got it mama. His drink is already prepared." Emily said coming out of the kitchen walking towards Trey to give him a hug and kiss.
"Okay miss girl." Mama Cindy said throwing her hands up. "Ima go eat my hands already clean." she continued.
Emily walked back into the kitchen and Trey followed behind her. He took a video of the food for his instagram story posting it with the caption "my girl can cook better than yours".
Trey washed his hands and they both sat down enjoying the meal Emily prepared. "Not you slick tryna match me." she said through bites. They both had on black plaid pajama pants and a white tee. Trey laughed "You my mini me for real".
Emily smiled cause it was true. They both learned so much from each other since they started talking in October. Emily looked up at him ready to fully let him in.
"Can I tell you something?" she asked
Trey looked worried but replied "Yeah wassup?"
"I'm ready to really let you in. Only person who knows anything about what I'm telling you outside of my family is Armani" She started
"I don't know if that counts cause she my family too so yeah"
Trey continued to eat and replied "Go ahead Emmy baby. I'm all ears."
Emily
I took another bite of my food trying to prepare myself for this wild story I'm about to tell Trey. I hope he'll understand my life.
"As you know I live with my grandma. She's been my provider my entire life. My mom... not so much. She's had a drug problem all my life, but grandma says the drug problem came about two years after I was born."
Trey is still eating his food just soaking in the little that I told him.
"I never knew who my dad was because my mom never told us. She said he would be better off without knowing, which sucks but hey. Apparently I have an older brother from my mom but know one has heard from him since he lives with his dad. I see my mom sometimes but it's hard to be around her. You know seeing her all drugged up looking for another hit."
"Wow" was all Trey could say. I expected that but maybe a little more too.
"Well I'm here if you ever want to find your brother and dad or if you need me to come around when you see your mom." Trey started.
"I'm never leaving your side so be prepared to be sick of me. You'll never have to do anything alone. I got you." Trey finished looking into my now glossy eyes.
A few tears fell and this wave of sadness came over me. Trey grabbed a tissue to wipe my tears and gave me a hug.
Hovering over me he kissed my forehead and lifted my head up. "I love you Emily" he said and kissed my lips.
"I love you too Treymon"
I gave him a few more kisses and could feel the waterfalls starting. Who am I kidding I been having waterfalls since he got here.
