If Astrid had a nickel for each time she had to jump into water to escape she'd have two nickels

If Astrid had a nickel for each time she had to jump into water to escape she'd have two nickels. Which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice.

Percy had been quick to think of Hermes' parting gift, and with the thermos containing the four winds making their boat skip on the water surface like a stone. The offending white cruise ship faded into the distance until it was gone.

Annabeth managed to set up an Iris-message in the sea spray despite the unreliable connection. She threw the gold drachma, praying to the rainbow goddess to show them Chiron—are those strobe lights?

They just ran from a cruise ship full of monsters and he was in a club.

Stranger things have happened.

They filled him in on everything from running away from camp, Luke and his wonderful vacation, and the souvenir he got from Tartarus. But from techno blaring on his end and the rushing air and water on their end, they couldn't really tell how much he got of that.

"Percy," Chiron yelled, "you have to watch out for—"

His voice was drowned out by loud shouting behind him—a bunch of voices whooping it up like Comanche warriors.

"What?" Percy yelled.

"Curse my relatives!" Chiron ducked as a plate flew over his head and shattered somewhere out of sight. "Girls, you shouldn't have let Percy leave camp! But if you do get the Fleece—"

"Yeah, baby!" somebody behind Chiron yelled. "Woohoooooo!" The music got cranked up, subwoofers so loud it made their boat vibrate.

"—Miami," Chiron was yelling. "I'll try to keep watch—" The misty screen smashed apart like someone on the other side had thrown a bottle at it, and Chiron was gone.

Annabeth recognised the where they were after nearing the shoreline, the first spot of land after an hour at sea.

"That's Virginia Beach!" Annabeth said. "Oh my gods, how did the Princess Andromeda travel so far overnight? That's like—"

"Five hundred and thirty nautical miles," Percy said.

They stared at him. "How did you know that?"

"I—I'm not sure."

Annabeth thought for a moment. "Percy, what's our position?"

"36 degrees, 44 minutes north, 76 degrees, 2 minutes west," He said immediately. Then he shook his head. "Whoa. How did I know that?"

"Because of your dad," Annabeth guessed. "When you're at sea, you have perfect bearings. That is so cool."

"We get Beckendorf to strap a GPS on you then you'd never be lost."

Percy gave Astrid a heatless glare.

"Other boat is coming." Tyson caught their attention

They didn't really wanna get caught by anyone right now, especially authorities. Annabeth guided them towards Chesapeake Bay, knowing a place they can stop by.
