Warmth.

Sunrise.

Golden rays of heaven.

There was a hand reaching towards her. It felt gentle and loving against her skin.

She opened her mouth, but no words came out. A few babbles and incomprehensible sounds, which only made her giggle at the sound of her own voice.

The faint outline of a goddess was before her, and she, too, chuckled.

Golden rays of heaven.

The smile of a goddess, iridescent as fresh pearls from the sea bestowed by Poseidon. Ivory silky complexion, like perfectly chiseled marble with eyes made of shining yellow garnet.

Aphrodite perhaps? Goddess of Beauty.

Sunrise.

It reflected in her gaze.

Golden rays of heaven.

Her hair was shimmering like golden rays of heaven. Like waves in the ocean, everflowing locks that tickled her nose.

She giggled again, babbling nonsense while swaddled in warm cloth and enveloped in loving arms.

The goddess gazed down upon her with nothing but love and mercy. Her lips, soft and sweet as blooming roses, pressed against her fragile head.

All her worries melted away at that moment. The absolute ecstasy of youth that fades every so quickly with dwindling time.

"Aina Aoi..."

Her voice was of clover honey and ambrosia. The goddess spoke her name ever so gentle.

"Aina Aoi..."

She spoke it again. Nectar of the Gods, it lulled her to sleep.

"Aina Aoi..."

"Aina..."

"...Aoi..."

"...Aoi."

"Aoi."

"Aoi."

"Hey. Aoi."

Aina blinked awake from her dream. The world around her was blurry, and there was a creeping pain in the back of her neck.

"Are you alright?" asked a familiar voice.

Rubbing the last bit of sleep from her eyes, Aina picked her head up from the desk to meet the inquisitive gaze of Yaoyorozu.

"Mmph—mhuh?" She forgot how to speak.

"Um..." Yaoyorozu stifled a laugh. "You must be pretty tired; you were really passed out. You don't seem like the type of person to fall asleep during class."

Aina rubbed the back of her neck, feeling her cheeks flush out of embarrassment.

"I'm not... no..." she mumbled.

I knew that tutoring Yoshi on top of all the chores yesterday would catch up to me, but sensei's been sick lately. I just didn't expect to be this exhausted...

Yaoyorozu gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, nobody else seemed to notice. But you should head to the cafeteria before lunch is over. Maybe some of Lunch Rush's food will help you get your energy back up."

I doubt it.

"Do you want me to go with you?" asked Yaoyorozu.

"No, thank you." There was a curtness to her response. As much as Aina appreciated her optimism, the last thing she was in the mood for was company.
