3rd POV:
It was December 31st, the last show of December and the final show of the year. However the odd thing about today was how Macaque was acting.
_____
Lavender woke up in her bedroom ready and excited for their big show today. She had been told to wear an outfit that screamed 'theater mechanic' since she was going to be helping Yin and Jin most of the time.
She got up and ran over to her dresser with her already prepared outfit. It was a dark grey turtleneck, a black skirt, black tights, black boots, and her black purse. Right before she ran out of her room Lavender turned and walked over to her desk then grabbed her necklace that she got from Macaque. She put it around her neck and re-adjusted her hair. She was ready in a flash as went into the kitchen.
Lavender walked into the kitchen but didn't see Macaque- and the lights were off too. It was odd, Macaque always woke up before her since he could always hear her. . . hear anyone really.
She walked out of the kitchen and to Macaque's bedroom on the other side of the dojo. Once outside his door she knocked as gently as possible. "Mac. . . Are you in there?"
From outside the door, Lavender could hear rustling and grunts. Which was making her concern only grow.
After another minute or so, the door was being unlocked and opened. Once the door was fully open it revealed a ruffled up Macaque in black pj pants and a tank top. His hair and tail were frizzy and puffed out while his bright golden pupils were sharp- kinda like a cat's.
Once he saw Lavender his eyes adjusted and his fur fell. "Bright Eyes? What are you doing?" He asked in a deep groggy voice.
"Today is the theater's New Years show. . ." She mumbled as she twisted and turned her boot on the wooden floor, her hands behind her back, and her gaze shying away from his.
He stood staring at her blankly for a couple seconds before it finally came to him. "Oh. My. God. You're right!" He yelled as he fell into a shadow portal.
A second later he appeared in his usual attire. "Sorry about that kiddo." He walked into the living room to look at his grandfather clock, with Lavender following close behind- like a little duckling.
"Yeesh, we do not have time to make breakfast." He walked around a bit, grabbing any necessities along the way while mumbling to himself. After a few minutes he looked back at Lavender, knowing she was following him. "Lavender? Ever had street food before?"
_____
Lavender POV:
Apparently it wasn't just this morning that made Mac act weird. Once we got to the theater, we took our stuff off and he took me to the Demon Market for this "Street Food" he told me about. It was, to what I heard, called an "Apple Fritter." It did taste pretty good.
I was following him back to the theater, even though we could have teleported, listening to him mumble to himself. I couldn't really make out what he was saying but everyone has their moments.
Once we arrived everyone began setting up the theater for tonight.
_____
It was already 5:30 pm and we had about 30 minutes until the show started. Right now I am with Kuaiji helping sell out the tickets. We had a lot more viewers than usual, the usual being a hundred or so. This show was about the Chinese Zodiacs and things that they have to do with history. Mac also was going to talk about the Sun, Moon, Lunar and Solar Eclipses, and of course New Years.
