There's just no way... I giggled lightly, sitting on my throne, casting a sharp, disbelieving look at my sister, Harumi. My lips curled into a smirk, as I gave her an expression that clearly said 'are you serious?'

Suppressing the laughter bubbling up inside me, I leaned toward Hutchinson, who stood beside me, ever stoic. "Have you seen what Harumi's wearing?" I whispered, struggling to contain my mirth. Hutchinson shook his head slightly, not even acknowledging the comment, ever the professional, but I caught the flicker of amusement in his eyes.

"Y/n, you are unbelievable," Harumi said through gritted teeth, her voice tight, brimming with barely controlled anger. She stood rigidly, her fists clenched, but her face remained perfectly composed, playing her part as always. I rolled my eyes as my father, turned to lecture me.

But honestly, how could I not say something about that outfit? It was a trainwreck.

"She's just trying to show off," I muttered under my breath, watching as Harumi slipped back into her serene, little miss perfect act. Her back straightened as if she hadn't heard my jab, and she held her head high, probably hoping to win our parents' favor with her false charm.

The thing is, Harumi might be older, but that doesn't matter. She's an outsider—my parents took her in after the Great Devourer incident. She's an illegitimate heir. No claim to the throne, not really. And every day, I thank my Spinjitzu Master for that. But that doesn't stop her from trying to claw at my birthright, like a snake lurking in the shadows.

Do I sound like a spoiled princess? Maybe. But does that bother me? Not in the slightest.

"Please, girls, calm down. The ninja will arrive any moment now," my mother's gentle voice cut through the tension, her hand resting lightly on mine in a way that usually soothed me. Today, though, I shook it off with a sigh.

"The ninja are just... so... you know?" I groaned, waving my hand dismissively.

"They saved your life earlier, Y/n. Now act like a princess, or retire to your room with no dinner," my father said, his tone sharp and unyielding. His words made my mouth snap shut.

Taking my dinner? The absolute nerve. He knows food is my weakness.

Suddenly, Hutchinson straightened, moving swiftly to open the double doors. I sat up a little, curiosity piqued, watching as all six of them entered in formation. The light from the hall framed their silhouettes perfectly.

"I present to you the exalted Emperor and Empress of Ninjago," Hutchinson announced grandly, his voice booming, "and their daughters, the Jade Princess, Princess Harumi, and the Sage Princess, Princess Y/n."

I tried not to cringe at the pomp and circumstance. My father, sitting regally next to my mother, stood to greet them, hands extended. "We are honored by your presence."

"The honor is all ours," Lloyd responded, stepping forward with a respectful bow. But before I could even blink, Harumi was on her feet, gliding toward them with that same sickening smile plastered on her face.

What the fuck is she doing?

"I have read much about you," Harumi purred, her voice like honeyed poison, "your heroics will surely become the stuff of legend." She gazed at them like they were gods made flesh, but I could see right through it. I clenched my fists in my lap, seething internally.
