Shreya's POV

"Di," I heard a nervous voice. I turned around to see Deshna. I took a deep breath and walked towards her and said.

"Yes."

"I am sorry di. Please forgive me. When Adit proposed to me, I rejected him because I didn't realize my feelings. When his marriage proposal came to you and I saw your closeness, it affected me. At that moment I realized I loved Adit deeply and truly. We both didn't know how to stop the wedding, so we decided to get married the night before. I know I have no right to ask forgiveness but If you can forgive me, please come to my house for dinner tomorrow."

Saying that she left. I went back home and pondered over and came up with a conclusion. I started earning because of my art along with my job as a financial advisor. I have bought a 1 bedroom apartment with my savings.

A day later

I press the doorbell and the door is opened by Adit.

"You came." He said in an elated voice.

"Deshu, look who came to meet you." He shouted.

My baby sister came and tears started brimming in her eyes.

"Thank you for forgiving me."

Saying that she pulled me into a tight hug. I reciprocated it feeling peaceful.

"I thought you wouldn't come."

"If my crazy stupid but loving sister thoughtfully apologized. Who am I not to forgive you? I admit I was envious of you but later realized that this was bound to happen for my self-growth."

"Di." She whined and pulled out of our hug.

"I'm also sorry. It was stubbornness that led to this." Adit said.

"Apology accepted. Let's forget the past and focus on our present."

We all got seated in the living room and chit-chatted about life.

After having dinner, I left their place and went back home. Feeling happy and relieved. It's truly said, forgive and forget. Not because it lessens the guilt of others or you become a bigger person by forgiving but because it heals you.
