-A/N: You work in a winter shoe shop (let's say one exists in Starcourt) but no one comes in because it's the middle of summer-

God I hate my job, no one comes in and it's so boring, and it doesn't help that I never work with anyone. You know what? Screw it. On my lunch break I'm gonna go search for new jobs around the mall. It's at 1:00 and I've only got *checks clock* 3 hours till then. This will be a long 3 hours. I keep myself busy by counting how many pairs of boots are on display. 116 pairs, that's 232 individual shoes. And only one pair has sold today. Then I count the colours: brown, black, cream and a pair of pink shoes (I'd never want pink shoes). I glance at the clock again and it's... 12:50!! Thank god. I don't care it's 10 minutes early, I'm going. I close the shop door and put up a sign that says "back in an hour" knowing damn well no one is going to want to come in. See ya stupid job.

The food court is on the other end of the mall, it's ok though; the exercise is good. I don't even want food, I'm just hungry for a new job. The question is, where do I actually want to work? And the answer is, anywhere I get to work with other people, because I hate being alone, and especially at work where I need to talk to get through long hours with low pay (yay for me). I'm looking around at the different shops and lay my eyes on a big light up sign that reads "Scoops Ahoy". And to that I thought why not, I've had their ice cream and it's really good, especially the U.S.S Butterscotch, and I wouldn't mind getting some freebies. I walk up to the counter, playing with my rings because that's what I do when I'm nervous. There's a girl sitting at the window with headphones on, reading a small book. I can only see her side profile but wow, she is really pretty. Short and wavy dirty blonde hair, the perfect nose, eyelashes, and some bracelets and lots of rings. I stand there for a bit, waiting for her to notice me but she must be really invested in that book because she hasn't noticed me yet. She eventually does and jumps off and puts her headphones and book down.

"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't see you! I was so busy reading my uh..... well anyways it doesn't matter welcome to Scoops Ahoy what can I get for you?"  Now I see her whole face, and it's absolutely stunning. Gorgeous deep blue eyes, lots of little freckles dusted across her face, and cherry red lips.

"Uhh nothing actually, *glances at name tag* Robin" I say with a smile.  (somehow she manages to go even more red. Wait, is she blushing? Probably not)

"I was just going to ask you if you're hiring? My job is terrible and terribly boring and I'm by myself and it's.. well boring and I'd like to start somewhere else but if your not hiring that's totally okay, I can look somewhere el-" She cuts me off.

"No no we're definitely hiring!! And I totally get the whole job is boring thing; I work with this guy, you might have heard of him, Steve?"

"Yes I definitely have" I reply.

"Yes well we're work buddies and it's fun and all but he's got this odd child friend with him who's come back from a camp or something and they're off together in the back and I'm here by myself so having someone else join would be amazing!"

I could listen to Robin talking for ages, her voice is so soothing and calming, and the raspiness is somewhat attractive too, oh god why am I thinking like this? I've just met this girl.

"Uhh that's great!" I reply, knocking myself out of my trance.

"Ok I'll just take you round the back here and I'll get you to fill out some paperwork-"

"wait you don't need a resume?" I ask.

"Nope! Just as long as you're willing to work here and don't have a criminal record-"

"ohh yeah about that" I start.

Robin laughs and her whole face lights up, and it's the most gorgeous thing ever. I want to see it again.

"You're funny.. hey I don't think I caught your name, what is it?"

"Y/n" I answer.

"Y/n" she repeats. "That's a really nice name."

Now it's my turn to maybe blush.

"So is Robin".

She turns around. "Alright Y/N, if I could get you to read these papers and sign at the bottom, you'll be able to start first thing tomorrow!"

"That's amazing thank you so much! Oh and when do I get one of these?" (I point to her uniform).

"Well, we've got one girls' uniform in the back who was supposed to begin 3 months ago but never turned up. Nancy, her name was. She's such a priss. Anyway, not a personal question or anything but are you around size (your size)? Because if you are then you'd fit into it!"

"I actually don't know what size I am, would you be able to check the tag on my shirt?"

"Sure" she smiles.

-You're wearing a cropped tank top -

I turn around and Robin tries to find the tag. The little hairs on my back tingle in response to her hands and butterflies enter my stomach, and I don't even know why.

"I'm not sure if you've ripped off this tag or not Y/n but I can't find it"

"Ohhh that's right, the tag is at the bottom of this shirt, it's really weird"

"Ok" she chuckles softly. God I love that sound.
Her hands graze my waist and the small of my back as she tries to find the tag and I think my legs might actually collapse and the butterflies in my stomach might as well set up a whole village in there there's that many. This is so weird.

"Yep, you're a size (your size), so I'll keep the uniform in the back and you can change into it tomorrow!"

She gently turns me around as she says this with her hands, of course, on my waist, and I feel really hot, for obvious reasons, and Robin obviously notices because she asks me if I'm ok and she looks genuinely concerned.
"Yeah, I'm okay, it's just a hot day and I get red really really easily and it's embarrassing and even with makeup on it's still visible and I look like a tomato and it takes forever to go away and-"

"Y/N it doesn't look that bad, honestly. Go get yourself a cold drink and- oh wait! We make cold drinks here." She laughs again. "I could make you one if you like and you could stay here in the booths and keep me company."

"Robin I'd love to stay but I think I have to get back to my horrible job so I'll just take a vanilla milkshake and go if that's ok?"

"That's ok!" she says and starts making the milkshake.

I just stare at her in awe, the way she moves around and grabs all the ingredients so swiftly- if I did that I'd stumble over myself a billion times. She scoops the vanilla ice cream and her knuckles are white and her hands grip the scooper really tightly. Wow that ice cream must be real hard. She's surely got muscles if she scoops ice cream every day. Oh my god I need to stop thinking like this.
When she's done she hands me the drink and our hands briefly touch, of course they do, and I pay her then start heading off to my absolute drag of a job.

I've got 4 hours left at this place, and I can't wait to leave, and no one's come in since I opened back up from my "lunch break". (surprise surprise). I start drawing on my now empty milkshake cup which was really delicious and couple of love hearts and flowers in and I notice some writing. It reads "you start at 10am with me tomorrow. PS: if you need to call me, here's my number xxxx-xxxx-xxx -Robin xx"

I think I'm going to keep that cup forever.
