Robin must've heard me pull into the driveway because she came outside as soon as I stopped the car.She sat down in the passenger seat and I got a closer look at her outfit. A striped oversized shirt and basketball shorts. Something simple but she makes it look amazing.
"Are you gonna say something or are you just gonna stare at me" Robin jokes.
Shit how long was I staring for?
"You look nice" I say bashfully.
"You do too" she looks at the ground.
"Do you know where Steve lives?" I ask
"Yeah I'll give you the directions. If you trust me" Robin said the last part mischievously.
"I'm trusting you with my life Miss Buckley" I chuckle as I reverse out the driveway.
She giggles and it feels like such an accomplishment to hear that sound.
—time skip—
We get to Steve's house at 8:45, so around 15 minutes before people start to show up. Stepping out of the car, I feel a warm breeze hit my face, it's still warm outside this late.
Robin and I walk to the front door and out comes Steve with a beer in hand.
"Hello ladies, so nice of you to join me on this fine night" he says grandly.
Robin and I give each other a look and smirk.
"Geez Steve, you might wanna pace yourself with the drinks. We don't want you getting drunk this soon." I grin, walking into the house with Robin behind me.
"I actually have a very high alcohol tolerance thank you" he announces proudly.
"That supposed to be a brag, Harrington?" Robin questions.
I smile at her.
"Yes Robin, yes it was." Steve leads us outside to the pool.
Robin and I look at each other and roll our eyes
I lean over the edge of the pool, sticking my hand in the water. It's a perfect temperature.
Robin starts taking off her shirt and I blush so intensely I feel my head spinning. She pulls her shirt over her head and removes her shorts, revealing a navy one piece bathing suit.
I just stand there, flustered, lost for words.
"I know you were expecting a bikini but that's just not my thing" Robin says nonchalantly as she walks past me, close enough that our shoulders briefly touch, to sit on the diving board.
I'm practically gawking at this point, the butterflies in my stomach fluttering at a very dangerous pace.
This girl makes me go crazy.—Robin's POV—
'A bikini?' 'That's just not my thing?!' What the hell was I thinking? That surge of confidence just came from nowhere and why on earth did I say that? I probably made her so uncomfortable, just straight up assuming that she wanted to see me in a bikini. What the hell is wrong with me? Did I think I was going to impress her with that?
If I want any chance with her I need to actually think before I say anything."How bold of you to assume" y/n says before pulling her jumpsuit down her shoulders and letting it fall to the ground to reveal a lilac bikini.
Holy holy heavens she is perfect.
I try to fight the blush threatening to cover my face but it wins and makes my whole face turn crimson.
