It had been seven months since Logan was taken. Keegan had finally let Hesh get off bed rest and allowed him to get back to work. Work now was just taking out small leftover Federation bases. Even so, Hesh was itching to get back out there. To find his brother.
Merrick, Keegan and Hesh, who was of course accompanied by Riley, were in an airboat while Kick drove. They were going through the mucky swamps of Orlando Florida looking for a FED base.
Riley barked as the large building came into view, alerting the four men they arrived.
Kick docked the boat half a klick from the building, making sure they were out of sight.
Everyone grabbed and readied their weapons before jumping off into the muddy terrain. Riley following behind Hesh. Guns weren’t going to be needed if everything went to plan, but better safe than sorry.
The four men and k-9 companion slowly made their way to the building. They ran into two FED men that they easily took out silently with knives. And in almost no time they got to the building.
Deciding that they didn’t want to fight their way in, they used the side vent to get in. Merrick took the cover off so everyone, excluding Riley who was forced to wait outside with Merrick, could climb in before he put the vent cover back.
The vent wasn’t too big, but wide enough to fit a man. So they went in one-by-one. Kick went first, Hesh behind him, and Keegan after both of them.
Merrick stayed as a lookout (per his orders[he didn’t want to crawl in the tight space]) and Riley probably would’ve made too much noise. So they were left outside.
The remaining three shuffled through the vent as quietly as they could, stopping when they heard voices or to look into a room that the vent allowed them too. Eventually they stopped at both.
“Não, estou te dizendo, ele vai quebrar. Eles sempre fazem.” One guard said while Kick looked through the vent slits.
“Sim, mas você não conhece aquele menino Walker. Capitão diz que ele provavelmente é melhor do que era ou é.” The other replied as they began leaving the room.
“E você confia nele? Você é mais tolo do que parece.” The first one responded, getting a punch in the shoulder as they went around the corner and out of sight.
“Clear.” Kick whispered to the two behind him. “I think this is it.”
Kick pushed on the vent and the cover came off easier than expected. Kick almost missed it but he caught it in time with a sigh of relief before he dropped down into the room.
Hesh followed his lead and Keegan followed behind Hesh. Kick set the vent piece under a table before walking over to a computer.
Keegan walked to the door and stood post in case a guard came back while Hesh looked around the room and Kick was hacking into the FED’s data frame.
The room had four desks lined almost like school desks, a large line of circuit box thingies on shelves opposite of the desks. (Idfk what their called)
Hesh spotted a locked drawer and kneeled down to it, letting curiosity get the better of him he used the handle of his shotgun and broke off the lock before opening the drawer. Keegan and Kick glanced over hearing him hit something before going back to the things they were doing.
Hesh froze when he saw what was inside. He slowly reached into the drawer and pulled out his father and brother’s Ghost mask. Slowly Hesh stood, staring at the mask like it was a train running towards him on a track.
“Guys, how did they get this..?” Hesh asked quietly, but loud enough he got the other two’s attention.
Kick paused for a moment confused on what he was talking about before he walked over and looked at what he was holding, only to pause again.
