The day my life changed was the day is certain pair of green eyes moved into my life. I was 6 years old. My family consisted of me, my pregnant mother, autumn, and her boyfriend, Samuel. We live in a two story apartment, that was connected to an identical one. The other one was empty though. But I have particular really rainy day, that all changed. I spend the day sleeping on and off, because my mother said I could watch the rain at midnight, that's when the rain was the prettiest. I go out on the porch at around 11:50 and sit quietly. I am overcome with the call me splish splash of the raindrops. I get out of my chair to go stand in the yard. Arms out and eyes closed I turn my face towards the sky. What seems like an eternity you later I hear the engine. I open my eyes and immediately get blinded by two big head lights. There squinted eyes I see for people get out of a small moving van. A man and a woman, and two small children, a two year old little girl and, to my surprise, a six year old little boy. The little boy is looking around. He doesn't see me. I wipe water for my eyes, maybe I'm saying things? No no kids under 12 live on this road, and I've always been the only girl. No one is ever even wanted to live in the apartment next door. So why now, before I can answer my question, the boy finally sees me. I smile nicely and walk over to him. I look him in the eyes.
"Hi! I'm Ivory Victoria." he returns my smile he tries to brush his wet hair off his forehead. Its length water droplets into the air and then goes back to its curly nature. He scowls. I can't help but giggle. Luckily he laughs too.
"Hi, Ivory. My name is C-christian! I-i'm your new n-neighbor!" he stuttered as he tried to wrap his raincoat tighter around him. He isn't stuttering because that's how he talks, he has a beautiful voice, he is stuttering because it is cold.
"Hey, Christian! Do you want to go on the porch to get out of the rain, I'll ask my mom for some towels so you can dry off?" I'm a very easily talker. My mom says it's because I have "Southern Charm", but her stupid boyfriend says it's because I talk too much. I think it's because I'm a "social butterfly". I come back with 5 towels and a mom who suddenly very interested to meet our neighbors.
