Hiro stood in the crowd of the botfight, holding his megabot, keeping his nervous little kid facade on.After Tadashi died, he hadnt went botfighting in a long time, but he was bored and wasnt working on any major projects for the college, so he decided to go.Just this once.
The bot fight had just begun, and the crowd had grown.
A tattooed young man with various peircings held the money tray.
It was a mix of ages, a few bundles of elder teens ,leery looking older people and tattooed young adults.
"First challenger!"
Hiro decided to go for it.Whats the harm? He thought.
"..I-id like to go" He stammered, acting nervous.
A few chuckles were heard from the crowd, but some obviously recognised him and his bot and stayed stone faced, not volunteering to compete against the young boy.
A figure dressed in all black emerged from the shadows of the crowd, and people backed away, seemingly afraid.The smarmy teens shut up quickly.Hood up with a bandana covering their mouth and nose,they were dressed in all black, with a very baggy black sweater on.
It was impossible to tell who they were or what sex they were.
Slightly taller than hiro, they advanced in front of him, holding up a small pod like thing.
They didnt speak to him either, not even a murmur.They were oddly menacing looking.
Hiro raised an eyebrow.
"You..uh..want to challenge me?"
They nodded.The money holder guy whistled.
"Good luck kid.You'll need it" The guy murmured to hiro.Hiro looked at his challenger, confused.
"Okay, First match hiro and the no name!" The man shouts, and there are cheers from the crowd as the two put their money on the tray and sat down.
No name? Hiro thought, confused.It suddenly dawned on hiro that this challenger must be famous here.Feared even, since everyone was watching eagerly, betting.
No bets were on Hiro.
"Fighters ready...GO!"
