As I stepped onto the platform and made my way towards the plane, I was taken aback by the chaos that surrounded me. Babies were crying, their wails echoing through the terminal, while people were shouting and arguing with each other, their voices rising above the general din. It was a nerve-racking experience, and I felt my anxiety mounting with every passing moment.
Despite this, my mom held onto my arm, her grip reassuring, and urged me to go ahead. I hesitated for a moment, not wanting to leave her behind, but she gave me a gentle nudge, and I knew that I had to go.
"Off you go, sweetie," she said, her voice trembling slightly as she tried to hide her tears. "Be brave, and remember that I love you."
I nodded, trying to put on a brave face, even though I was scared out of my mind. With a final wave goodbye, I made my way down the aisle of the plane, my heart pounding in my chest. As I settled into my seat, I couldn't help but think about my mom and how much I would miss her.
As the plane took off, I closed my eyes and gripped the armrests tightly. I hated the sensation of my ears popping and the pressure building up. It meant that I was leaving everything behind - Damian, my mom, and even Mira.
I was lost in my thoughts when I suddenly felt a tap on my arm. I jumped in surprise, putting my arms up and letting out a frightened squeak. Slowly, I lowered my arms and turned to see who it was.
I heard a loud clang on the floor and when I did look I saw the flight attendant on the floor, looking at me just as shaken as I was. I felt so embarrassed, everyone was staring at me and I wanted to melt away into the seat at that moment.
"Are you okay?" I whispered, finally breaking the silence, I could feel the awkwardness rising.
"Yes I am, ma'am, I am sorry for awakening you, we would just like to ask you what you would want for a meal." She said politely, dusting herself off as she stood up.
"Oh my god, I am so sorry!" I panicked, I was going to be kicked off the plane, wasn't I?
"It's fine ma'am, like I said." She again said with a polite voice, handing me the menu with a slight smile plastered on her face.
"I'll take the Sunday dinner and a lemonade, please," I said all in one word out of embarrassment, I doubted she could understand me but she walked off anyway.
"Godammit Megan! Why are you so stupid?!" I mumbled trying to give myself a mental slap.
I plugged in my headphones and started playing more of their other music, I kinda liked it.
I was just looking out the window when I noticed the trolleys start to come out with fresh food, the scent covering all others and it made me hungry.
"Here you go, ma'am." A new flight attendant handed me my meal in one hand with my lemonade in the other.
"Thank you," I nodded, giving her a small awkward smile before she took to her trolley and started to serve the other passengers.
"Goddam, I'm gonna gobble this shit up!" I grinned contently, clapping my hands with just my fingertips.
I grabbed the gravy in a rush and started pouring it till it nearly spilt off the plate, then I drank the remaining gravy and started devouring the food like I hadn't been fed in days, it was so good.
I took a break from my food and glugged down my lemonade in one shot, I was surprised I could do it but the next second wasn't so polite, i felt a burp rising in me and before I knew it the loudest one I had ever done came out, the plane was silent.
I was having the worst luck ever, but it came out as a joke and people just laughed it off.
I continued pecking at my food until the plate was clean, the only thing left out was the Brussels sprouts.
The trolley came back around and I handed them my plate and cup, then I put my headphones back in and dozed off, I dreamt about meeting a mystery man I couldn't see, but his voice led me insane, his voice...how do I explain it?
I fluttered my eyes open when I heard the robotic voice of the landing announcement, I stretched out my arms and slowly stood up, rubbing my eyes and sorting myself out.
I can't believe it, I'm actually in Germany! What a journey. I grabbed my bag and waited at the suitcase roundabout for my bag. It took about ten minutes before my bag showed up, it was peach with a fuzzy pom pom on it.
I went into the main hall and saw a bunch of signs with names on them but none of them were mine until I went into a more closed area with fewer people and saw my name "Megan Clair's" written on a piece of cardboard with a Sharpie.
I jogged over trailing my luggage behind me, I had the biggest smile on my face. By the time I had gotten to her, I was engulfed in a large hug, her strength in it squeezing me half to death.

"Oh, my beautiful baby! My beautiful beloved granddaughter!" She let go and started in amazement, she looked up and down with a large grin that seemed to never fade on her face.
"Uhm..hello?" I said surprisedly with an awkward smile. She grabbed my stuff off me and carried it for me.
"Oh, I forgot you're not from here, you seem awkward, do you not remember your auntie? I used to change your nappy as a baby ya know that?"
"Eww! Don't mention that here!" I giggled, trying to be nice but the thought of her changing me was long gone, I was a baby after all.
"So, my dear Megan, tell me have you got any boyfriends?" She smiled, placing her hand on my shoulder.
My smile instantly faded, I grabbed her arm that was on my shoulder and took it in mine, giving her a saddened little grin to seem right, she instantly saw through me and hugged me, she reminded me of Mum, I felt safe with her too.
"It's alright dearie, you can tell me all about these problems as soon as we get home." She said sternly, her face instantly turning solemn.
She gripped my hand and we puzzled our way through the crowded halls, I saw a bunch of girls crowding again while we walked too, and I wondered why this was happening so much.
When we made our way out we walked over to an old-fashioned car I hadn't seen before, it was weird seeing the lower reality of people who weren't born so lucky as me, I feel bad now.
"In ya go!" She opened the passenger door, I climbed in and waited for her, checking my phone was weird since it was so early but I was so tired, I hated when I had to change my sleeping routine to fit their timezone.
13:48
Aunt Rose hopped into the driver's seat and turned her car keys, but the car let out a weak growl, she turned it multiple times and suddenly it roared, and we were off.
"Aunt Rose, when will we get there?" I asked curiously, looking at her with complete admiration.
"Only a few minutes, and you don't have to keep saying aunt ya know? Just call me Rose."
"Alright, Rose," I said with a cheerful grin, now I knew why I was the only one in my family with deep blue eyes.
"I'm sorry we aren't so rich, I feel bad you have to do work." She said with a soft voice, a tiny bit of a German accent slurring in her words.
"It's fine, I wanted to know how to work anyway, it's so boring having everything handed to you on a platter." I smiled, putting my hand on her shoulder.
I fell asleep the rest of the ride, Rose says I looked so peaceful there. Her house isn't too big, but it's cosy. Not empty like my house, it was beautiful.
"Your rooms upstairs at the end of the corridor, leave your luggage down here and I'll carry it up later." She kissed my cheek and went off somewhere into the other rooms.
I wandered up the stairs and found my room down the hall, it was small but I was ok with it, I felt more at home here than in my real one.
I plugged my charger into the socket and left my phone there to charge, I felt so tired but I had to go to sleep when it was late enough, or I'd be up and running at 4 in the morning.
Sorry for the slow uploading of chapters, school started and I just got a bit busy, hope this makes up for it.
