Bell stood frozen at the door as she look at the woman who stood in front of her. Sherlock stood next to her, his face shaping into a glare of anger.

"What are you doing here?" Sherlock hissed in the direction of Bells mother.

"I'm here to see my daughter, you don't really think the chat we had this morning was going to stop me, did you?" She laugh as Sherlocks face twisted and turned with anger.

Bell was still frozen at the door. A million different thoughts ran through her head. She was her mother! She was the woman who left all those years ago.  Then the one key question; why did her mother leave in the first place?

Making a faint noise, Bell moved forward from the door. And stood even closer to her mother. "Why did you leave me?" Where the first words to leave her mouth without thinking. Bells mother seem take back by this; while sherlocks eyes where locked with her mothers. Almost daring for her to answer.

"Well it's complicated Bell" shaking her head Bell moved forward a little so she stood between her mother and father.

"It's a simple question why did you leave?" Bell asked again.

"Umm... It wasn't safe for you, I had to leave to protect you sweetheart" Bells mother said, taking a step forward as Bell took a step back.

"And what you couldn't send a message or postcard anything to keep in touch!" Bell said in a calmer voice than she thought. Sherlock was stood protectively behind Bell his eyes steady locked with her mothers.

"Bell it wasn't safe" her mother plead with her again. Bell just laugh at this.

"My arse it wasn't safe! Your wearing expensive clothes and have a tan, now if I was someone on the run I wouldn't be wearing nice clothes or getting a tan" Bell couldn't stand to be in the same room as her mother. And with with one glance Bell walk past her dad and out of sight. Leaving her parents behind.

Slamming her bed door shut Bell fell forward. Face planting the bed. She felt like curling up in a ball and hiding from the world. Why was her mother here? Why now? All these thoughts were running her head as she curled up inside the warmth and comfort of her duvet.

Sherlock and Irene stood for a moment. She stare at the stop in which her daughter had been stood, Sherlock walk passed her placing himself in his chair. Moving across the room to Sherlock, Irene was still in disbelief that her daughter had been that way to her.

"I think you should go" Sherlock spoke from his seat, his gaze focused on the fight place.

"But-" Irene began but Sherlock cut her off.

"Go! You shouldn't of done this now go!" His voice was firm. Turning on her heels Irene head to the door way as tears slowly slip down her face.

"She's beautiful, you've done a good job at bring her up" and with that she head down the stairway and out of 221b.

Taking a deep breath Sherlock stood up and head up to Bells room. He was angry that Irene had caused Bell so much pain. Pushing open the bed room door Sherlock saw that Bell had curl in her duvet. He didn't want this, for Bell to be hurt and upset. And because of her own mother. Sitting on the bed, Bell felt the weight shift and knew her dad was with her.

Turning around she lay there looking up at him. A man who had never been good with his feeling, but who always made Bell feel better. And that proved to Bell that he was a good father. She smiled up at him.

"Bell, I'm sorry about that I didn't know she would come here" With every word Bell could tell that he meant it and that she wasn't supposed to know. About there meeting. And her mother.

"It's... Ok dad, it's not your fault" she reassure him. Sherlock knew it wasn't his fault but hearing it from Bell made him feel a little more assured. "So that was my mother?" Bell sunk lower into the bed.

"Yes that was her" Sherlock said, his eyes resting on Bell stretch out on the bed.

"Well... She seems...." Bell couldn't finish her sentence. She had just meet her mother for the first time. The woman who had given birth to her, was final here. Sherlock sat looking down at his daughter, he didn't know what to say. He knew it was confusing for Bell, but in a way he agreed with what she did.

"Come and help me with this case" Sherlock said, Bell sat up on the bed. A small smile crossed her face. He knew that it always cheered her up, and he knew she really did need cheering up.
