Akaza POV
What!?
No.
This isn't possible.
I'm dreaming.
This would never happen.
Ever.
Wake up.
Wake up out of this nightmare.
I couldn't think straight.
I couldn't move.
"Upper 3. What part of this is a nightmare?" Master Muzan said, turning his attention to me.
"Nothing Master," I replied, quickly bowing.
Crap. He's really pissed off with me.
"Look up."
The voice didn't belong to Master Muzan.
It was the girl.
I slowly tilted my head up and found myself face-to-face with her.
"Why are you so afraid?" she asked quietly.
She touched my hand lightly and I saw a smile form on her face.
Damn. Master Muzan is so pissed off with me. I peered over the girl's shoulder and saw Master Muzan who was infuriated.
I looked at the girl who wasn't smiling anymore.
"Well? Aren't you going to answer my question?" she asked, but this time with a sterner tone.
"Why the hell did you ask me such a dumb question?" I snapped.
Why the hell did you say that to her!?!? I screamed in my head.
"I get it. You wanna get cocky and act like you're not scared of any damn thing, but that's not the truth. Fear is resonating off you like mad." She smirked.
Kyoka POV
Damn.
I hope Muzan doesn't get mad at me.
I can smell the rage resonating off him though, and it's not towards me.
"You bastard!" The demon yelped and flung his body towards me.
-Memory space-
Fire.
Fire everywhere.
Screaming.
Everyone was screaming.
This wasn't how tonight was supposed to go.
I was supposed to perform the sacred dance that I had practiced for a year for.
Demons.
They were everywhere.
Devouring everybody I had ever known.
A demon was coming towards me at full speed.
I couldn't move.
My legs wouldn't move.
I couldn't run.
It was the end of me.
When I thought all was lost my older brother sliced the demon's arms off.
He wielded the nichirin sword that he was given for passing final selection.
For becoming a demon slayer.
"Run. Run as fast as your legs can carry you." That was all he said.
I fled the scene running as fast as I could into the woods.
For days I ran.
Running was all I knew.
Over mountains, through towns and villages, over plains and meadows.
I ran till the day I met Tanjiro.
Nakime POV
The girl woke up screaming Master Muzan's name.
She was crying, sweating, and shivering.
I glanced at Daki who whispered: "Should I go get him?"
I wasn't sure if he had heard her cry, but I had a feeling he would come.
"No" I whispered back.
By this point, the girl had shoved her pillow into her face and was screaming and crying into it.
I heard the door open from behind and felt the presence of Master Muzan immediately.
"Leave."
I nodded my head in acknowledgment, stood up, biwa in hand, and began to walk towards the door.
