Chapter 4.

Avery POV***

"Whoa so let me get this straight, your dad cheated on auntie Quinn and got this random pregnant and now your mom is pregnant as well."

I nodded slightly confirming what had encountered.

"Damn, that's some jerry springer type shit forreal."

My cousin AJ said, I was on the phone with my two best friends one happened to be my cousin AJ his dad was my mom's older brother Anthony but I'm older then AJ by a year.

"Tell me about it."

I said as I laid on my bed holding my phone in the air for the them to still be able to see me on FaceTime, Julia was my other best friend we have been super close since pre-school.

"I mean at least your parents didn't get a divorce, it's the worst having to travel back and forth and deal with constant bickering."

She said most likely speaking from experience since last year her parents split.

"I'm sorry Jules hear I am going on and on and it totally slipped my mind about your situation."

She plastered a weak smile on her face waving me off.

"Don't worry about it, just at least try to forgive your dad okay."

I groaned.

"I'm trying okay! It's not that easy, I looked up to my dad I wanted to be just like him and then he turns around pulls this shit. Honestly I don't know how my mom forgave him so easily, it's like everything is back to normal for her."

I spat out every word into the phone.

"I don't think auntie feels like everything is back to normal but you have to realize your parents met around our age and have been together since, if it was me I don't think I would leave or want to end things either that's a lot of time and love developed and you said he only had been cheating for the last couple years so before that it was what ten years of complete faithfulness yeah I would stay too bro."

AJ said, I hated how deep he was sometimes especially since I'm incapable of it and I'm older.

"I know, I just wished he never did any of this and we could have still been a perfect family."

I sighed.

"Maybe that was a trigger having to be perfect through auntie's miscarriage and then his parents death's that's enough to make anyone lose all sense."

Julia chimed in, I told them I would speak with them at school tomorrow and hung up the phone. Talking to them maybe everything a little better and it helped me open my mind a little more but I still couldn't put away the hurt felt because of all this and the anger I had for my dad.

Laying back on my bed scrolling on TikTok I was deep into this video when I heard my dad call for me.

"Avery, come here son!"

I rolled my eyes as I made my way downstairs, I walked into the living room and he was no where to be found confused I started calling out to him.

"Dad?"

"I'm in the Basement!"

I heard him yell faintly.

I walked down the stairs into the basement, I seen my dad going through old boxes of things I had when I was younger.

"Look what I found, it's Grayson your favorite teddy bear remember him?"

I looked at all the junk my dad was pulling out of boxes.
