Korean Army base, Seoul

"Tae, Kookie, what do you think, huh? It's our first Christmas alone," I say to the two maknae with me.

Apart from Namjoon hyung, who was now serving in a different platoon from us, but on the same base, the other hyungs were granted leave to go home for a week.

"Yeah Jimin hyung, I miss both Jin hyung's and Yoongi hyung's cooking!" Jungkook says, sitting back against our dormitory wall.

"True. I don't miss my omma's cooking as much as I miss their cooking!" Tae adds with a nod.

We'd been granted a week's worth of leave-no rigorous training and no drills. But we would have to remain here, at the base.

The idea that we'll have a few days off to relax, felt like bliss. My toes ached.

Of course, I missed everyone back home. But most of my family was already here! Right in front of me.

Jin hyung is now a Soryeong (Lieutenant Commander) while, Hoseok hyung is a Daewi (Captain).

Meanwhile, Namjoon hyung, was easily promoted to Jungwi (First lieutenant) after he displayed his great leadership skills. But the rest of us were just Sowi (Second lieutenants). Although, that would soon change.
