"I can't do it."

"Not again." Lia sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration. "You can do it, Y/N. You're just overthinking."

I stared up at 'Sprinkles', the adorable little ice cream parlour where my crush works. Who knew that such an innocent looking building could make me feel sick to my stomach.

"He might not even be working today." I said as I stared directly at Jimin serving an old lady through the shop window.

Lia rolled her eyes. "Look, all you need to do is walk in there, go right up to the counter and ask him out. I will be right by your side the whole time."

"I can't just ask him out." I repeated Lia's words bitterly. "How do you even approach that topic without making it awkward? We're family friends, I don't wanna make ruin that."

"Here's a little trick I learned when picking up guys, and believe me, it works everytime." Lia suddenly pulled back my shoulders and used her thumb and forefinger to stretch my lips into a smile. She then looked at me with an impudent grin. "Tits and teeth."

"What and teeth?!" I chuckled.

"Give him a nice smile and push your breasts out. Men love it when a woman shows a bit of confidence. Trust me."

I raised an eyebrow at her. "And pushing your breasts out works everytime?"

"Everytime." Lia repeated confidently. "Just go for it."

I looked away from her and reset my gaze back on Jimin through the parlour window, who was now wiping down the counter with a cloth. I guess Lia is right, I should just go for it. If I don't do it now then I might never do it. Sometimes in life, you have to take a leap of faith.

I took a deep breath and pushed my chest out. Just as I was about to enter the shop, Jimin suddenly looked up, and I made direct eye contact with him through the window. He gave me a pearly smile, and I felt the wind get knocked out of me. I swiftly turned to leave when Lia suddenly grabbed my shoulders and spun me back around.

"Girl he's already seen you now you can't just leave, that's embarrassing." Lia exclaimed. "In we go."

"Wait-!" Before I had a chance to come up with an excuse or protest, Lia pushed me through the doors of the ice cream shop. The bell above the door jingled as we entered. The sweet aroma of various flavours wafted through the air, tempting my senses. The shop was adorned with pastel hues and whimsical decor.

Lia grabbed my sleeve and dragged me towards the counter. As we approached, Jimin looked up from scooping icecream and offered a warm smile.

"Oh hey girls. I was wondering when I'd see the two of you here again." He chirped. "What ya havin'?"

"I'll have a mint choc chip on a waffle cone please." Lia requested

Jimin nodded and turned his back to grab the cone. As his back was turned, I felt a tug on my arm and Lia leaned in to whisper in my ear.
