"Hey! Back off!" Bruce could hear Vance yelling from down the hall. He ran quick down the hall to see what was going on. "I said off, Arellano!" Vance shouted, the sounds of lockers shaking as he was pushed against them. Billy, Finney, Gwen, and Griffin were pretty much circled around Robin and Vance, who were now fighting.

Surprisingly, Robin was getting more hits on Vance. That made Bruce mad. For a second he told himself to think, think, think, but he couldn't. He clenched his teeth as he ran and rammed himself into Robin, knocking him back away from Vance. Vance looked at him and smiled, "hey."

"Bruce? What the hell!?" Robin snapped at him. He pushed Bruce, still in his angry and fighting state. "I know you're friends with him or whatever, but Vance is a complete dick and was using his father as excuses for somethin-" before he could finish Bruce hit him hard with a good right hook, which knocked him to the floor.

"Hopper and Yamada! Come to my office now!" The principal yelled as he approached with a nurse.

Bruce and Vance looked at each other before Vance grabbed Bruce's hand. "Do you trust me?" He whispered quietly, a small, mischievous smile forming onto his face.

Bruce smiled back as he nodded. Suddenly Vance made a ran for it, Bruce following along. They both sort of laughed as they ran, hand in hand, both smiling wide. Soon they found themselves at a small hidden place on the schools campus. "So..." Vance started, out of breath from running, "why the hell'd you do that?! Ain't he your friend or something?!"

"Well yeah," Bruce said nervously as Vance started to back him against the brick wall. "He was hitting you real hard, Vance," he said, leaned up against the wall, "he gave you a bloody nose. It was bugging me so I just sort of reacted off my first instinct." He grabbed Vance's face, bringing it inches from his face.

Vance smiled softly, "well I'm glad you protected me, but you know he's gonna be mad as shit, right?"

"Yeah," Bruce breathed, blushing as Vance put his hands on his hips. "I'll figure things out with him, 'kay? He's my friend, hell one of my best friends, and I couldn't dream of losing him, but I hate seeing you two fight..and honest to god you're my favorite person in the world and it hurts to see one of my close people hurting you."

Vance hummed before just leaning in and kissing Bruce. Bruce kissed back, wrapping one arm around Vance's body, the other around his shoulders, pulling him all the more closer. They started to make out, but Vance backed out, looking deep into Bruce's eyes. Bruce felt his stomach drop at the look in Vance's eyes. His eyes were clouded with confusion and pain.

"Why.." Vance started, his voice soft, "why do you love me?" He lost eye contact with Bruce quickly.

Bruce furrowed his eyebrows confused. "What...what do you mean, Vance?" He asked standing up straighter and moving his arms back to his sides.

"I can't hide this anymore," Vance sighed, putting his hands over his face as he rubbed roughly. "Why do you love me, Bruce? That day..when we were both detention. You were annoyed as hell with me, but you still gave me a place to rest my head for the night. And when I was arrested you immediately went to the precinct for me even though you knew your dad was there. Why do you care?"

Bruce stared at him for a moment, unsure how to react. "I liked you the day after that. When you were sat in my bathroom while I was cleaning your scars and stuff from fighting. You didn't seem as annoying as I had originally thought. You were actually kind of nice, and you were pretty chill."

Vance licked his lips before bringing Bruce close to him into a tight hug. "I always admired you, Bruce," Vance told him in a whisper, "I..I liked how good your grades were, how nice you were, how many friends you had. I was jealous of you, but I had the biggest crush on you and I didn't know how to approach you."
