Chapter 10 Hammock

**Chapter 10: Hammock**

Killer goes up the ramp first and is immediately stopped by a few worried crew members, informing the second in command that their captain was very, very angry when he came back. The crew member begins to question what happened when Cytherea walks onto the ship.

The ship goes quiet, not expecting a new member, especially a female one. (40) Cytherea walks the rails of the ship, letting her hand slide along them. The ship has taken off; she closes her useless eyes and smiles at the fresh sea air. She turns to her first mate, asking in a confident voice, "What is her name?" gesturing to the ship they were going to sail on. Killer has his hands crossed, standing proud as always.  Behind her, she gets her reply from the captain himself. "Her name is Victorian Punk."

Their conversation is cut short by some yells coming from the docks. "CYTHEREA, YOU BITCH! YOU DIDN'T TELL ME YOU WERE LEAVING!!!" It was Edwy, and the rest of the bar staff was there, waving goodbye to her. Cytherea is glad to see that Laurie is up and moving.

She turns back to the bar staff, waving and shouting, "SORRY, EDWY! MY SHIP CAME IN, AND MY CAPTAIN TOLD ME I ONLY HAD ENOUGH TIME TO GET MY SHIT AND GO!!! I WILL SEE YOU GUYS LATER! TAKE CARE!!" Edwy yells, "CATCH!" Whatever he threw wasn't something she couldn't 'see' with her haki, so she truly was blind for once.

Sighing, she expects not to know what it was and waits for it to hit her or the water. A warm body leans over her, and a small thump comes from right in front of her face. She looks up to see her captain standing behind her, holding the mystery object in his hand, inches from smacking her face. Damn Edwy and his aim.

The captain, with just a hint of teasing in his voice, says, "Damn, you really are blind. Are you sure you are going to be any use to me?" She looks up and gives him the biggest smile. Quickly, she spins on her heels, standing chest to chest with him, only separated by their height difference. "Of course, Eustass Captain Kid. I am going to make you the next King of the Pirates!”

The crew cheers at her declaration of what they will do. She has known Kid since he was five, and she never doubted he would reach his goals. Cynthia made him that promise as well, so for both of them, she will make him king of the pirates, even if it means sacrificing her own life to make it happen.

Turns out, even though Killer and she like to fuck, it doesn't mean she gets any special treatment, or being a woman for that matter. Heat offers to show her to the bunks, the common bunks. Inwardly sighing, she isn't shy about anyone seeing her naked; she just doesn't want to deal with horny, lonely men while she rests.

To add to being one of the newest members of the crew, she is told she got the shittiest bunk, under some fat ass who clearly didn't care that his stuff was everywhere and that his hammock was almost sagging into hers. She turns to Heat, and some of the crew follow the two of them down, clearly wanting to bug her, by asking her questions and seeing her reaction to the sleeping arrangements.

She puts her bag down on the "hammock" and turns to Heat. "Okay, is this like a pyramid scheme where I have to fight the next person to get a better bunk? Or do I have to stab someone in their sleep? Because I am down with either; I just want to know soon so I can get a better bunk than this shit." The small group of bloodthirsty pirates is quiet for a second, surprised by her bold question. Heat chimes in, "It's more about fighting the person you want the bunk from."

She nods, walking around the room, scanning each space, trying to guess who slept where and which one was the cleanest. She was half-expecting that she was going to have to prove her power right as she joined; she just didn't think it was gonna happen over the bunks.

She stops by a few bunks tucked half behind a wall. There are six of them; the area is cleaner than the rest of the room, and judging by the style of bunks, they are the higher-up bunks. Scanning harder, she tries to guess which ones are Heat's and Wires'. She heard enough stories about them to not want to make them her enemies on day one.
