"If you ever knew someone who loved you enough to be terrified of losing you, I hope you know it's rare to find someone like that. Someone who would leave flowers on your dining table, kisses on your forehead, and the scent of love in your heart.Someone who would gently hold the pieces of your heart on days when life gets too hard. If you ever knew someone who loved you the way the sky loves its stars, I hope you didn't end up breaking their heart. And if you did, I hope life breaks your heart, too."

I take a final breathe before entering the massive gate of D.Y Patil Medical college. fidgeting with my newly printed ID card, I forward my steps towards the main building.
First day in a new college is anxious for everyone. especially when you know others are far way better than you, materially and economically.
I find the admin office at the first floor and ask the lady sitting there for the location of 2nd year's classroom.
The plump lady with big round glasses takes a look at my ID and says, "second floor, third class on the left."
I follow her instructions and reach outside the classroom.
opening the door a little, i see a boy sitting there, with headphones in his ears. his lake-green eyes were staring at the wall, probably thinking about something, not noticing my presence."Excuse me?", I said akwardly.
he didn't listen.
"Excuse me!", I said again, a bit louder this time.
he finally turned his head towards me, and removed his headphones in a daze. he kept staring at me, until i realized that he was waiting for me to continue.
"is...this the second year class?", i somehow managed to ask.
"No". he simply replied and put on his headphones again.
rude. atleast he could tell me where it is.I left the classroom in a daze, and suddenly bumped into a girl.
"i'm sorry, i didn't saw you coming", i apologized.
"no..no...it's okay, that was my fault too". she replied, "new student?"
"yes. could you tell me where is the class for second year students?"
"here it is." she pointed towards the same classroom which I exit a moment ago.
"but the guy sitting there told me it's not."
"Really? Who's that jerk?" she asks, and without expecting a reply, barges inside the classroom to check.
I followed her silently.
that green-eyed guy was now scrolling through his phone.
"really Ishaan? are you still in the daydreams of first year?" the girl scolds him.
the boy, whose name I guess is Ishaan, looks up from his phone and glances at the girl, before staring at me again.
He then realizes his mistake and apologizes to me, "oh...i am really sorry, i guess I was mistaken...sorry."
the girl Ignored him, "I'm Ritika, you?"
"Kanika...Kanika Mathur."
I noticed Ishaan's gaze on me, which he quickly diverted away when I looked up at him."great. I sit alone, would you like to sit beside me?", she said out streching her hand towards me.
"of course. Thank you. ", i smile and take her hand. she already feels like a great person.
soon, the whole class was filled with students and then the Professor enters.
the lecture ran straight for two hours and we're finally relaxed. the students started leaving as the lecture was finally over. but four people along with me, ritika and Ishaan were still in the class.
"guys!" Ritika caught up everyone's attention, "this is kanika, our new friend."
"hey, I'm Riya. nice to meet you", the girl wearing a light green jumpsuit greeted me.
"Hi, I'm Shlok. good to see you."
"Hey, it's shravan here.", the short guy, said sarcastically, making everyone of us laugh.
"you have your mouth stitched up?", shlok asked Ishaan, signaling him to greet me.
"I met her already." he said and looked towards me with a charming smile, "but still, hello, nice to meet you, I'm Ishaan Sharma. and sorry once again for what happened earlier"
"nice to meet you too", was all i could say.
"what are you apologizing for?", Asked shravan.
"let's go and get some coffee., i'll tell you on our way", says Ritika.
everyone started packing their bags.
"let's go to starbucks this time, it's been a while", Ishaan says, to which everyone agrees, except me.
"umm, guys...i'll just go home actually. I have some stuff pending at home since we've just moved in.", i said.
probably that was a lie. they all were going to Starbucks and I only had 250 rupees with me, and even had no vehicle to ride on.
"okay, let's meet tomorrow then." Ritika said, as I wave goodbye at her.
All of them were very sweet. I guess I'm gonna make some good friends this time.
