I barely slept last night at all. Thoughts about Ritika clouded my mind every time i tried to sleep. Will she talk to me tomorrow? Won't she ever talk to me now?
And that's why I was late for college today. I slept at around 4.am, and woke up in hysterics when the alarm ringed for the fourth time showing 7:45.
After hurriedly getting ready in 10 minutes, I left for college.
Luckily, the professor hadn't arrived yet. I quickly went and sat on my bench. I glanced around and saw almost everyone had arrived. Ishaan was as usual sitting a row ahead of mine, while Riya, Shlok and Shravan were in a row behind.
Ritika entered in after sometime in a hurry. Probably in the fear of being late just as me. Was she also wide awake last night, just as me?
I half expected for her to sit beside me as usual. But she went towards the left row and sat on the second bench with a girl whose name I guess was Anvesha. I'd met her a week ago when she came to borrow Ritika's assignment.
I'm sitting alone from now on i guess.
Shrugging the thoughts away, I opened my book and started revising the previous chapters. Mid-terms are just two weeks away and i haven't started studying at all. It's going to be a damn busy month.

"you feeling alone?", Ishaan asked turning towards me as the lecture was over.
"how could I feel alone when you're there?", i said while my sight went towards Ritika who picked up her bag and exited the class silently.
And of course, Ishaan noticed that. "she's been really weird lately."
"did you quarrel with her before in the first year or something?", I asked while he shook his head negatively.
"don't worry. We're there as your friends as well.", said riya from behind. Accompanied by shlok and shravan.
"of course you are.", I forced out a smile, which again didn't go unnoticed by ishaan.
"we should go to the lab now. Next lecture is about to start.", shravan reminded as we went towards the biochemistry lab.

"students, coat your slides with methyl blue carefully. And then draw the four epidermal cells you see in the microscope into your respective journals.", the professor instructed as we silently followed.
"where the hell are four cells? Mine shows six.", shravan whispered.
"those must be air bubbles. Haven't you closed the cover slip perfectly?", shlok whispered back.
"both of you are hilarious. The other two are meristematic cells, not air bubbles.", said Riya.
"six of them looks all the same. Which are the epidermal ones?", Ishaan frowned as well.
"the four upper cells which are smaller than the other two. Draw them.", I said.
"god! Why isn't anything simple here...", shravan whined, a bit louder this time.
And just to his luck, the professor heard it, "beta, there's nothing simple here. If it was simple, then your degree's name would be BMBS, Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery. But what is it? MBBS, Medicinae Baccalaureus Baccalaureus Chirugiae. Understood?"
"y-yes sir.", Shravan gulped, while others were trying hard not to laugh at the poor boy.
