Beasts And Us

chapter 6: world of beasts

The rabbit tribe has been in an uproar since morning. Especially after a few beastmen caught glimpses of the two complete females who were ushered in to the village chief's tree hole since morning and are yet still to come out from there.

But even in their absence, the tribe was in an booming with all males both old and young and also children, forming groups outside the treehouse.

"I heard the females don't have animal features" said one male.

"I heard they were sent here by the beast god to bring fortune and fertility to our tribe"

"I heard..."

The whispering continued as many beastmen speculated the reason for new females in their tribe.

Each being excited at the prospect of being able to court and mate a complete female.

While in the tribe leader's treehole, Dawn and Sacha were being welcomed and orientated by the tribe leader whose name was 'Mu' about the situation the were in after listening to their own predicaments.

Sacha with a contemplating look on her face replied to the village chief.

"So to summarize what you're saying, we are in a world of beasts where males can turn into beasts and females look like beasts, this continent is known as the beast continent, which isn't the only continent in existence, but you guys... I mean beastmen, are yet to explore the other continents.

And also, the beast continent is divided in to four main parts, or countries in my understanding.

Like according to the four cardinal points. So we have the north, south, east and western aspects of the beast world. Which all form a circle around the center-most part of the beast world, where the 'sphere of life' can be found. which if i understand better, is an orb, which holds the balance of the entire beast continent as well as the power to make any beastman immortal. Which the forbidden forest is also the most dangerous and forbidden area in the beast continent."

Not that i understand what the hell that entails. I'm starting to think maybe I'm being punished for neglecting those fairytale novels, anime, manga and movies on earth.

What's not to expect? maybe next I'll be dancing with unicorns or something.

Sacha couldn't help but let out an exhausted sigh, as the situation they were in started to sink in a little bit.

"So we are currently in the eastern part of the beast continent, where most herbivorous races live...and which  you're saying is also the safest place in this continent right?.....um like all those scary, mangy flesh eating beasts aren't likely to be around."

Sacha shivered at the thought of any wild animals, or any other type of predators lurking around. Worst of all scary reptiles and insects.

She thanked her lucky stars for falling where the herbivores were,she could at least deal with a bunch of sheep and rabbits. She could not imagine falling into a pack of ravenous wolves, tigers or lions or worst...serpents."

She could feel goose bumps litter her skin as she hugged herself.

While Dawn who had been listening all this time had a frown on her face no one could tell what she was thinking.

The village chief looked like a man in his late thirties, but he certainly was good looking like all the males they had seen so far, he had short neatly trimmed reddish hair almost a rich maroon colour and red eyes, surprising the girls, for they were expecting and old worn out,wrinkly, hunched and saggy grand pa.

No offense to the old people out there.

He had that gentle yet stern and authoritative air about him. When he addressed the two females, he was smiling.
