Fleet of Remnant

Act 1: Chapter 5

*Kingdom of Vale*

As the Task Force 141 moved forward into Beacon Academy the NATO forces in the city pushed deeper into the city fighting back the White Fang grunts. While they were making incredible progress against the untrained and undisciplined White Fang fighters their progress was still quite slow as they were not only dealing with the White Fang but were also rescuing and helping civilians in the city where they could. One such group of forces that have made considerable progress into the city is a group of Italian Luganri and were being supported by two German Leopard 2A6 MBTs and 2 Italian Dardo IFVs. Colonel Matteo Accardi was leading his unit through the city when they came upon the city's park and the Leopard tanks and IFVs stopped. Colonel Accardi approached the lead tank the crew calls Rabenschreck(Raven Fright). Major Felix Becker looked at him. "Colonel we're coming up on the park." He reported to the Luganari Colonel and he nodded. "I see. What's it looking like in there Major?" Colonel Accardi asked. 

"We're seeing a lot of action on our thermals. Seems like these White Fang brutes are chasing after civilians in the park." Major Becker replied and Colonel Accardi nodded. "Right. Let's get in there and save those civvies." Colonel Accardi replied and Major Becker nodded. "Yes sir." He replied as he went back down into the tank to relay everything to the tank crews and the IFVs also prepared to push into the park. Colonel Accardi raised up his Beretta ARX160. "Alright all of you. We've got civvies in the park trying to escape but are being chased by the White Fang, so we're going in to rescue them." Colonel Accardi said and the entire platoon of Luganari prepared to enter the park. There were a lot of trees and open ground so the only cover they'll have in there are the tanks and IFVs and maybe a few trees. However that didn't stop them from going into the fight. The Leopard 2s lead the charge as they entered the park. As they were no longer going down narrow streets Rabenschreck's companion tank Buschschreck(Bush Scare) moved alongside Rabenschreck so it's crew could fire on the White Fang without worrying about the lead tank blocking their shot.

The IFVs also pushed forward to provide supporting fire for the infantry. As they pushed into the city they saw 2 mechs and several White Fang infantry attacking some people who were trying to protect the other civilians in a small building nearby that wouldn't protect them much longer. Major Becker immediately started giving orders to his team. "Schmidt, feindliche Panzerung 6 Uhr. Feuer frei!(Schmidt, enemy armor 6 o'clock. Fire at will!)" Major Becker said into the radio. Rabenschreck's turret turned immediately to one of the mechs and then seconds later fired it's 120 mm smoothbore gun. The armor piercing Sabot flew through the air at incredible speeds and slammed into the mech where the pilot was. The Mech fell over now completely inoperable. The second mech only had time to turn to face the tanks and infantry before Buschschreck fired it's gun and the sabot slammed into the mech center mass and went right through taking out the mech.

Both mechs were now out of action and the White Fang infantry now realized they were being attacked and tried their best to organize a defense but it was very flimsy. They were poorly placed and they failed to coordinate targets leading to the White Fang infantry targeting everything around them. The chaos did however allow the Dardo IFVs to push forward the remaining 20 feet(6 Meters) to put themselves between the White Fang and the building the civilians were taking shelter in. The IFVs turned their turrets towards the White Fang and began engaging targets with their machine guns. The White Fang infantry refused to retreat or surrender though and continued to fight back. While this was happening 3 Luganari medics approached the Colonel. "Signore, chiede il permesso di andare a controllare come stanno i civili?(Sir, requesting permission to go check on the Civvies?)" Sergeant Lorenzo Pesci asked and Colonel Accardi looked at him and nodded. "Permesso accordato. Forniremo fuoco di copertura a te e agli altri medici.(Permission granted. We'll provide covering fire for you and the other medics.)" Colonel Accardi replied and the medics nodded.

"Squadra! Fornisci fuoco di copertura ai medici!(Squad! Provide covering fire for the medics!)" Colonel Accardi ordered his team and everyone focused fire on the White Fang. The tank crews saw what was going on and decided to open up with their coaxial Machine guns to keep the White Fang's heads down. The medics then ran the 20 feet to the building and went inside. They frightened a few civilians but managed to calm them down and patch up the ones who were hurt. The battle against the White Fang didn't last much longer after this though as the White Fang infantry were taken out and after ensuring the safety of the civilians the Luganri with the German tanks took control of the park. They were preparing to move into the city again but then were ordered to hold the park to set up a Safe point for civvies to be evacuated to and for a field hospital to be set up in. So that's what they did with the help of the German Leopard 2s the Luganari set up a perimeter around the park to make a safe place for the civilians. The battle in the city was starting to turn against the White Fang as they kept losing more and more ground to the NATO forces. The city would soon become a safe place once again.
