Chapter 16 (Why?)

The party is just two days away and Y/n is nervous as hell, even though she said OK with Taehyung still she has that kind of feeling. Right now, she was lying on her bed while thinking about what will going to be happen if she came with Taehyung.
"Y/n, nowadays you are becoming an overthinking person. You going to be alright". She said to herself. Just then a message popped up, she swiped her phone, and it was Taehyung.

The message

"Ms., Lee. Sorry if I text you at this hour," said Taehyung.

Y/n looked at the time at it was 10 p.m. She replies to it without hesitation.

"No, you don't have to Mr. Kim. Why did you text me at this hour? It must be something important" said Y/n.

"You see Ms. Lee. The party is just two days away and I want to invite you to buy a party dress that you will wear later," said Taehyung.

"No, you don't have to do that sir. I'll be fine" said Y/n.

"Come on, Ms. Lee. Just think of it as an expression of my thanks to you," said Taehyung.

"Really but I am fine. Thank you for asking" said Y/n.

"OK, if you say so. Sleep well," said Taehyung.

He decided to end the chat first. "Why would he do that? I mean I can choose my gown by myself he doesn't have to bother himself" said Y/n. "Whatever let's just sleep, I'm sleepy". Y/n hopped on the bed and pulled the blanket over then drifted to sleep.

Meanwhile

Taehyung is sitting on the balcony in his room while sipping a red wine. He looked up to the sky and made a scary smirk "Oh, my god princess. You are the most innocent woman I've ever met. Does she think I don't know her gown size, believe me I do. No matter you like my decision or not, I'm still doing it". He takes another sip and gets inside his bedroom while closing the balcony door behind him.

Jihyo Pov

I still didn't get it, why would Tae Oppa ask Y/n to go to a party with him? Where was his secretary? Or why he didn't go with Jimin Oppa? Or why he didn't go by himself? He isn't a baby anymore; he is a grown-up ass man. There is so much question running towards my mind, and I can't even figure it out. I even didn't realize I was sitting with Jimin Oppa in the living room, I took a glance at Oppa. He was playing with his phone, and I was reading a fashion magazine. But I don't read it. I just put it on my lap while staring blankly at it like an idiot. I sigh and throw the magazine to the table in front of me.

"Aish, you startled me. Why did you do that?" Said Jimin Oppa."Oppa, just answer me with honesty" I said. "What is it? Do you want new clothes for your birthday gift next year?" asked Jimin "What no, I don't want that. I just want to know about Taehyung oppa" I said straight away. "Hmm, what about him" Jimin said casually. "Do you know that he asked Y/n to go to a business party with him?" I spoke. " Yes, I do" he replies casually.

"And...???" I still need a piece of clear information about this matter. "What do you mean by and? He said a little bit amused. "What was his intention? And where was his secretary? Why does he ask Y/n to do her job? And why he doesn't go by himself?" I bombarded him with various questions. "Woah easy sis, let me explain about it. So, here's the thing. Tae's secretary is away because she has to do another thing for the company and that's why he asked Y/n to go with him, lastly, he can't go there alone because every CEO who will attend the party would bring their partners or secretary with them. That's the reason why.

I was silent for some time, then I decided to ask him again. "So, there wasn't any intention at all? He just asked Y/n for help?". Jimin oppa nods his head, I stand up from my seat and ask again. "Is it true oppa? Or did You just say this thing so you can lie to me? You were his best friend after all, you may know anything. Don't you? Jimin oppa sighed and said "Jihyo, ah why would I lie to you? Everything I said earlier was true". "Sorry, if I hurt your feelings oppa" I apologized to him.

"That's ok, it is normal you worried about Y/n. You are her best friend and I know how it feels sometimes" said Jimin Oppa. "Good night, oppa" I wish him and go to my room to sleep. "Good night, have a sweet dream," said Jimin Oppa from behind.

Back to Y/n POV

I open my eyes and blink them a few times. It was already morning, I looked at the clock and it was 7. A.M. I get up from the bed and then make my way towards the bathroom, after I finish my morning routine, I decide to go downstairs to make breakfast. I open all of the curtains, then I hear a door knock. "Who's coming at this early?". I walked to the front door and opened it, to my surprise there was no one. I look everywhere around however the street still looks empty. I was about to close the door, but my eyes caught something on the ground, it was a gift box wrapped in red paper and red ribbon on top of it.

"Who leave it here?". I take the box and read the notes. It goes like this...

Hi, Ms. Lee

I'm sorry if you found out this way. I still can't take it when you said you can choose your gown. So, I decided to choose it by myself. I hope you aren't mad at me; I just want you to look beautiful at the party also I expect you will like the gown I chose for you.

"You have to accept it, princess. Whether you like it or not, I'll show you who makes the rules here."
