Chapter 64 - Death of God's Will

Part 1

We were ready to head to face the Hero Faction, I suggested we take the fastest route, which was obviously flying or using teleportation magic to arrive at the outside of Nijo Castle, but for some god forsaken reason...

"We are taking the bus?!" - Everyone in the Gremory group plus Saji jumped back

"Y-yeah, is there a problem?"

"A problem?! Ayumu is risking her life trying to convince my parents to join our side and you guys wanna take the scenic route?! Need I remind you what's at stake?"

"T-this was a recomendation of Azazel-sensei and Serafall themselves"

"That proves those two must have a few screws loose!" - I exclaim, but before I can protest any further I feel a presence approaching us

"Youkai?" - I ask, ever since the meeting with the members of Urakyoto the youkais had stopped following us around, but somehow I sense one approaching us behind...

"Issei, behind you!" - I say and he turns around, but what we end up finding is...

"H-hello there"

A small foxgirl wearing miko clothes

"""Kunou?!""" - Me and the group exclaim as the foxgirl jumps in Issei's back

"What in the world are you doing here? Weren't you told to stay back?!" - I scold her

"Yes they did, however! I-I want to go save my mother! Please! Take me along! I beg you!"

Issei looks at the girl with a troubled expression and I can already tell what he's thinking

"Don't even think about it! There's absolutely no chance of this happening! She's going back, now!"

Issei makes an apologetic expression to me

"W-wait a minute Tatseyo, maybe bringing her with us can improve our chances of rescuing the Kyuubi?"

I narrow my eyes, not believing what I just heard

"Are you listening to yourself? Have you forgotten who we are going against?"

Issei scratches the back of his head, this guy! He's seriously considering keeping her around in this fight!

I consider forcefully pulling her out of him and telling Kunou to stay away, but before I can do anything a light mist starts gathering beneath our feet

"O-Oh crap! No, no, not now!"

I curse as a slippery feeling envelops my body and I come back to my senses inside of a huge sumptuous palace with a beautiful garden

"Damnit..." - I say under my breath

I look around and sure enough I see Cao Cao and the other Hero Faction executives gathered with Yasaka and the youkais from Kanto.

"Hello Tatseyo! Everything going as planned?" - Cao Cao asks, I swallow my anxiety and just nod at him

"Y-yes... I thought we'd all be transfered at once, where are the others?"

Georg adjusts his glasses, it seems like he's making the final adjustments on the youkais we had captured for them.

"We decided to make them go through a gauntlet of balance-breaker assassins and brainwashed monsters before facing us, I don't believe they will be able to defeat the Gremory group, but many of our members insisted on it. So we might as well let them have their shot."

"I see..." - I muttered under my breath, this wasn't really part of the plan, they made changes to it. But they still transfered me right next to them so it doesn't seem like they have suspicions...
