The days felt longer and more dull then Yamitsu remembered,,
Ever since he has returned back to Atlantide with Flurry, he felt odd, like there was something missing in his life.
He thought that he would be happy to be with a woman he has grown feelings for, back with the people he spent his days with.However.. everything felt different.
Everything felt so odd, so cold.
Whenever Flurry teased him, joked with him, it was simply about is looks, his built.
Her eyes didn't sparkle ...like.. ..like his.
Soft red hue covered Yamitsu's cheeks as his mind was flooded by the memories of the past where he spent in the land of undead.
There laid the warmth, the familiarity he has grown close to.The nights spent by the fire as he played rather badly an old guitar the group found in an old building, Lucas snuggled by his side, leaning on his shoulder, his warmth radiating off of him as he sang along him,, often David and Leo joining in..
With all of them together, surely, it sounded horrendous, but it was fun, he felt at home.
The early mornings he cooked for the four of them once again, it was something they ate often, but it was not as bad as it sounds.
The best part was a pair of arms wrapping around his waist as the sleepy raven haired boy leaned his head on is back, grumbling as Yamitsu only chuckled as he continued preparing the meal,, sometimes, he would turn around, wrapping his arms around the now half awake Lucas, planting a soft kiss on the top of his head,, cupping his cheek, making him look up, his dark ocean eyes gazing back into is ruby red ones, sparkling with the now familiar glee and innocence, this world was harsh, but some of the purity has been saved after all..Their lips almost met that morning, almost..if he wasn't a coward.
They were soon interrupted by the loud grumbling of grumpy David,, he could have sworn he saw a glimpse of sadness when he pulled away from the other, patting him on the head and returning to the soup.
Yamitsu took a deep sigh,, regret filling his heart as the realization of his stupidity and stubborn blindness clouded his mind, avoiding the feelings like a plague.
He ran his hand trough his messy white, green tinted hair..
Yami looked into a mirror he hung on the wall months ago,, staring into it, feeling like a lost soul.
He looked like a mess.
His eyes..his ruby red eyes..Lucas loved looking into them.. he found them beautiful and rare, his own words.
The silly tattoos on Yami's face..
Lucas would caress them and plant a gentle kiss on them whenever he thought that he was asleep..or he would just play with his hair, brushing it off of his face, Yamitsu could feel his stare each time.Since then, he wore his hair up, often catching Lucas stealing glances at him,, at his features.
Often he would feel embarrassed by the sudden attention, but he didn't want the smaller one to know that he knew, he did not want to scare him off.
But ever since Yami has returned, he wore his hair down again, hence he had no one who would look at him that way again.
Whatever he felt towards Flurry, it was gone, or it simply was not love, perhaps he simply saw her as a friend, someone he as grown to know.
Everyone else looks at him, as if he was a brute, a monster.. he saw himself that way.
He felt cold in this place.
At night he would find himself reaching over next to him, as if searching for someone,, his arms felt empty as he let sleep embrace him.
When it felt more cold, his eyes would dart around the room,, not hearing the constant sound of a weapon being sharpened was odd to him.
He regretted leaving, abandoning them, just like that.
What haunted him was the pain in Lucas' eyes, the shock..
It all happened within seconds, he should have insisted on staying by his side.
What kind of purpose does he hold when he abandoned the only thing, the only place he is supposed to protect?..
He is meant to..protect..shield from everything.
Everyone..
With a quick pace, he burst open his own bedroom door, swiftly, he basically ran up the stairs, skipping many in process.
He froze in place the moment his eyes met with the startled cyan haired guild leader.
No words were spoken in this moment,, they spoke with their eyes.
Flurry noticed after getting back, that Yamitsu was more closed off then he was when he disappeared.
He was sad,, actually sad.
As if he was struck by grief.
She understood..
She understood his pain, she saw herself in his eyes,, the grief of losing someone you helplessly loved.
She regretted dragging him out of the barn.. The tears in the eyes of the unfamiliar raven haired boy was something she noticed as they were running out, avoiding making any more of noise,,
He was staring at the two, getting lost in the distance,, he held a longing stare..his eyes were sad, just like Yami's are right now.
Back then she thought she was just seeing things, but she quickly realized that she saw correctly.
Flurry only nodded at Yamitsu, giving him a small sad smile, but it was genuine.
Surely they were close as friends and she will indeed miss him, however she knows he must go.
Yamitsu gave her an honest smile,, it was a rare sight,, the two embraced tightly for the last time.
"Farewell, Flurry..take care of them, will ya?."
