3rd POV:

Losing Y/n was the worst pain Sabo had ever felt. So much worse than his accident, and the way she passed shook him to his core. That's why when he heard wind of her devil fruit re-sprouting, he knew he couldn't let it fall into anyone else's hands.

He wasn't too surprised to find out their little brother Luffy had the same idea as him. Reuniting with Luffy helped a bit but he doesn't think he'll ever recover from the loss of his sister. Y/n was the first person he ever truely loved, and there was no one who could replace her.

With her memory in mind, he closed his eyes and took a bite of the Mera Mera fruit...

"Long time no see Sabo," a familiar voice called out to him.

He opened his eyes to see he was in a different yet very familiar place, Dadan's House. He was standing right outside, and leaning in the doorway was a female figure with her arms crossed and muscular tattooed back facing him. The person turned around, and he felt tears build up in his eyes.

"You know, I expected to see you sooner, but I'm glad I didn't." His sister, Portgas D. Y/n, dressed in her usual get-up, was talking to him. She stepped closer to him and tears fell down his face.

"Y/n..." Sabo mumbled out, lifting his shaking hands to reach out for her. Y/n smiled and walked into his arms, wrapping him in hers. "Y/n!"

Sabo fell to his knees with Y/n still hugging him. He squeezed her as tight as he could. She felt a tear fall down her eye as she listened to her brother's sobs.

After a few moments of hugging and tears falling, Y/n pulled back and wiped her teary face. "And here I thought Luffy was the Crybaby. You look like you could put him to shame."

Sabo scoffed shortly and rubbed his face clean. "Like you're much better, jerk!" The two laughed at their small banter. "I've missed you, y/n."

"I've missed you too, Sabo," Y/n replied. "Come on, we gotta catch up." Y/n pulled herself off the ground and helped Sabo to stand as well.

Y/n lead Sabo to a special place of the mountain. The place where Luffy, Sabo, and herself swore themselves as siblings. Sabo looked around and noticed the box with sake and three cups from their childhood.

Y/n took her old seat, and Sabo did the same. Y/n poured the three cups again and placed the bottle onto the box. "So, Mr. Chief of Staff, how's life been treating you?"

The tattooed girl picked up her cup and took a sip of her drink. "How did you know?" Sabo asked, pausing before picking up his own cup. Luffy's cup was the only still untouched, and it would remain that way.

"I watch over you and Luffy in my spare time." Y/n nonchalantly answered before turning the conversation back to Sabo. The two went back and forth with their own stories. The bottle of sake was steadily being emptied as the siblings caught up.

"So you're telling me you are still causing trouble even in the afterlife?" Sabo rhetorically questions with a laugh. "Why am I not surprised?"

"Hey! I don't just cause trouble!" Y/n yelled, laughing with her brother. The two's respective hats had been swapped, and despite the sake bottle looking close to empty, it never seemed to run out. "By the way! You wondered which of us was older, right? Turns out I'm a month older than you!"

Sabo raised an eyebrow at that, "How do you know that?" He asked, curiosity dripping from his voice as he sat his cup down.

Y/n refilled her cup, "This guy I met is a really big fan of us, so I asked if he knew which of us was older, and he told me." She took a sib of her cup before continuing, "he's odd, but cool. He's got really long hair that's on fire, like this." She took off Sabo's hat and lit her own hair on fire. "Except his fire is blue," she stated before putting out her fire and placing Sabo's hat back on her head.

"You and Luffy attract some interesting people, that's for sure." Sabo responds before thinking about his own odd comrads. "Actually, it might be all of us..."

The two continued to bond before the noticed something. Y/n was starting to burn away. "Looks like my times up," Y/n said solemnly, raising her hand to see it fading to flames.

Sabo felt tears falling fast down his face as he realized he was losing his sister again. Y/n took notice of this and smiled gently at the blonde. "Hey, this isn't goodbye... we will meet again, Sabo.."

Sabo sniffed before wiping his eyes, which did nothing because he was still crying, "That's so cliché, Y/n."

"Heh, maybe.. but it's true," as her arm burned away, she felt tears falling down her cheeks. "I'll be watching you guys, so take care of yourselves for me.."

Her upper body began to burn away, "Watch over Luffy, Sabo. Please, in my stead.. help out in achieving his dream I know he'll make it but I can't help but worry.."

"I will, Y/n.." Sabo stated determination oozing in his aura.

Y/n smiled, "Thank you..." and with that Y/n burned away, leaving Sabo's hat sitting in her place. Sabo's head was bare of any hat as the world faded around him.
