Chapter 1

Brendon's POV:

3:27 am

I was trying to be quiet as I gathers my belongings. I was trying to be mindful to not wake Tara and Teagan.

Not a single thought could get through my mind. I was doing everything in the heat of the moment.

Teagan is my main priority. Im tired of the life that shes been given. She's such a beautiful bright soul, so kind, and smart. Her heart was huge. I feel so guilty on how shes been treated

I have no idea on what could have went wrong. Tara was such a loving person. But after the birth of our daughter she has became so cold. She goes out every night, comes home heavily intoxicated. Then she gets angry and takes it out on me and Teagan.

So because of all of that I've decided that I'm done.

Im tired of fearing for my little girl.

Im tired of fearing for myself.

So the only logical thing that has came to mind is to leave.

I'm fully aware of the consequences that could come with this decision.

But I've been off tour for the past couple months and i and financially stable to live by myself with my daughter.

Im fully capable to take on the role of a single father.

And for extra insurance, i know a good lawyer in case things get messy..

3:49

I have both of our belongings collected

I start to make my way to Teagans room. Im making sure to be very careful to be as silent as possible.

*I open her door*

I walk over to her bed, and go to pick her up.

As i have her in my arms i walk to the door with my keys in hand.

Im ready to go..

I quietly unlock the front door and open it.

"Dada" Teagan says in a groggy voice

"Hey baby, go back to sleep" i say trying to make it seem as if nothing is happening

I walk out the door to the car.

I start to mentally prepare myself. Cause this could be the moment that ruins everything

Unlocking the car, and even starting it could wake Tara up and ruin everything.

I walk up to the car and try to open the door quietly, it squeaks a little but not too bad

I place Teagan into her car seat. And then i take a moment to look at her. She has no idea that her life might change forever.

I close the door, and start to walk to the passenger side

All things are going well until i hear the front door open.

"BRENDON WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING" Tara yells.

I run as fast as i can to the drivers side.

I was able to successfully get inside and lock the door.

But in the side mirror, Taras bolting to my side.

"DONT YOU FUCKING DARE BRENDON" she screams.

I put the car into reverse.

And i start to drive backwards.

At this point shes banging on my window and Teagan is screaming.

I cannot think of

"TARA LEAVE ME ALONE" i yell hopelessly

This is it.

Somehow i was able to back out, and start to drive down the road.

4:30

I've been driving around Vegas trying to think of what to do.

As im driving past hotel i get an idea.

5am

I walk through the hotel doors, with Teagan in my arms with her arms wrapped around my neck.

I walk up to the reception desk

"hello, can I get a room please" i ask politely.

After a couple minutes of a small conversation. I get my room key and what floor I'm on.

5:15 am

I get to the room and immediately place Teagan on the bed, so she can comfortably sleep.

As shes sleeping i decide to take a shower.

The hot falls onto my hair and down my face.

It's so peaceful. All I hear is the water raining over me.

I feel so at peace of the fact my little girl and i are safe. Thats all i could ever want.

I spent the past couple years believing i was in an inescapable situation. Now I can finally see hope. Hope, hopefully leading to great things.

Right now all i need is to focus on being optimistic. Not only for me but for Teagan as well.

I hopped out of the shower and got dressed.

I walked over to the bed and lied down next to Teagan.

I closed my eyes and slowly started to drift to sleep.

Before i knew it, i was out.
