Chapter 3

Jareths POV:

I look up from the crystal ball and see Sarah standing there, looking at me with her soft sage green eyes. I look her up and down, I couldn't believe my eyes, she look magnificent. I realised I'd been stating at her for an uncomfortable amount of time. I stood up and walked over to her. Again, we looked at eachother for a decent amount of time, it was silent but it was a comfortable silence.

"You look absolutely amazing Sarah"

She smiled and returned my compliment.

"You look as handsome as ever Jareth"

We both smiled and eachother and I went over and took her arm and guided her to the near end of the table, I pulled out the chair and she sat down, I pushed the chair back in and began walking over to my side of the table.

"The food should be here shortly, but for the mean time, Sarah, I'd like to get to know you more. Tell me, my dearest Sarah, what have you been up to these past 5 years?"

Sarah began to speak of her life over the last 5 years. It was exactly the same as her life before our first encounter. Around 10 minutes later the first course came and we both tucked into our food. Again, we didn't talk much when we were eating but I was a comfortable silence. Everything felt comfortable around Sarah. At this point it was 6:30. The sun was setting, the window behind me let in the warm sunlight. Sarah's eyes were gleaming in the sun, she looked more stunning than ever before. As the window was behind me, I'd say from Sarah's View of me she could only see my shadow.

I'm between or 3 meal courses we were talking about our life within the past 5 years.

Throughout the night I realised I'd been opening up to Sarah more than I had with anybody. It was unusual for me to talk this much about my past, yet it felt nice and I knew I could trust Sarah.

At last we finished our last meal, I got up from the table and walked over to Sarah. I put my hand out towards here and she took it, she stood up and I guided her out towards a balcony, nobody else was allowed on the balcony except me, and now Sarah.

I watched Sarah gaze endlessly at the beautiful view of the goblin city.

" this view is beautiful"

"Indeed it is"

I was still looking at Sarah when I said that, it appeared she didn't take notice of me staring at her.

I turned to look out at the view of my city until I felt hands on my chest, I turned to look and saw that Sarah had placed her hands gently on my chest. She looked up at my eyes and then to my lips, I couldn't resist her any longer. I bent down slightly and put my hand under her chin and pulled her up towards me, I gently kissed her but Sarah turned into a more passionate kiss. We stood there for around 2 minutes making out until I heard a knock on the door.

I looked at the goblin who had interuppted us and he immediately began to talk after seeing my death stare.

"Me no want disturb master and lady Sarah but goblins gone crazy. There havoc at city entrance, someone try get in"

"What?! Who's trying to get in?"

"Don't know master, big group with fire"

I look at the goblin and quickly turn my head to look at Sarah, I kissed her one last time.

"Go get ready for bed, I need to sort this out, I am very sorry, lovely Sarah."

"Its fine, honestly, your the king, its not easy work"

I turned and left with the Goblin. Not one person I knew had realised how hard being kind is, usually things around here are fine. It's not often something causes havoc, but when it happens, its bad. I was upset that I had to leave Sarah, as much as I need her, my city needed me. I followed the goblin towards the gates at the entrance and indeed there were around 100 goblins screaming and shouting. I walk to the entrance and push the door open just enough so I can slide my body through, not letting anybody in or out.

Indeed there was a group of dwarfs outside the gates, most of them holding a long stick with fire at the end of them.

"WHY ARE CAUSING ALL THIS COMMOTION? I DEMAND TO KNOW!"

one of the goblins spoke up, honestly this was the most stupidest thing I have been interuppted for.

"We want in the city! We want to live in city!"

Then all the dwarfs began chanting 'we want in the city', I was frustrated with everything. My time with Sarah had been interruppted just for this.

"ILL MAKE YOU YOUR OWN CITY, AS LONG AS YOU STOP THIS RIDICULOUS PROTEST!"

all the dwarfs began shouting and crying happily. I rubbed my eyes as I was tired of this and I quickly summoned my crystal ball and through it as far as I could.

"There's your city, now go find it!"

All the dwarfs left in an instant to go find they're new city. I went back inside the gates and most of the goblins had wandered off after hearing me shout. I waved my hand and I was back in my throne room. I sat down in my throne and I was staring into space for a few minutes until I heard Sarah's soft voice.

"Are you okay? What happened?"

My frown immediately dropped and my anger dissapeared instantly. Sarah was dressed in a single night gown.

"Just some dwarfs demanding stupid things"

Sarah walked over to me and sat beside me, holding my hand.

"Ah alright, I hope your okay, you looked really mad when I came in"

I signed and began to relax a little.

"I'm fine now your here"

I looked at Sarah and smiled, I lifted Sarah's hand and she stood up along with it, I guided her round my chair and sat her down on my lap.

"I'm so glad you came back"

Sarah looked at me and smiled.

"I'm glad I did too"

I leaned in to kiss her again and we sat there kissing again for a while. I pulled away and stood up whilst carrying Sarah, bridal style.

"I think it's time we sleep, it's almost 11."
