It had been four days since I've come back to Forks. Bella was doing good until and had seemed normal until yesterday she had another nightmare. Her panicked screams filled the house, making me bolt upright in my bed in my own panic.
Once I realized what was happening I ran to her room. She was clutching her sheets and thrashing around as she screamed. I ran over to her trying to shake her awake.
"Bella it's okay, wake up. You're having a nightmare, wake up" I finally yelled.
Bella quickly sat up, grabbing my forearms roughly while she gasped and cried.
"It's okay, it's okay." I kept reassuring her.
She finally let go of my arms and I sat on her bed to hug her while she cried.
Our dad finally groggily came to the room to check on Bella. I looked over at him. "It's okay dad you can go back to bed, I'll stay with her."
He looked at us for a moment, unsure if he should actually leave before he nodded his and and went back to bed.
After a few moments Bella had calmed down. Still sniffing but no longer crying.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked quietly. Bella shook her head, making me sigh. "Bella if you don't eventually talk about it it's not going to get any better." I insisted.
Bella pushed away from me. "I don't want to talk about it Marnie." She snapped, making me jump back a bit from her loud tone. She sighed. "I can't talk about it." She almost corrected.
I just stared at her. Obviously there was something she didn't want to tell me but I couldn't even imagine what it could be, before it dawned on me.
"Bella did Edward hurt you physically? Like did he ever hit you?" I asked her.
Her head practically snapped to look at me, a bewildered look on her face. "How.... How dare you insinuate that!" She yelled at me.
My mouth fell open. Bella had never in our lives yelled at me. My mouth snapped shut quickly though and I glared at her. "And what do you think I should think Bella. So what you have terrifying nightmares for absolutely no reason other than him and his family moving and him having to break up with you? Make it make sense!" I demanded.
"You don't know anything, so don't you dare even assume!" She yelled again.
I felt livid. I had to remind myself that she was still vulnerable and upset but it didn't give her the right and talk to me the way she was. I said nothing and just shook my head and got up to go back to my room. Bella must of realized that she may have went to far though. She bit her lip.
"Marnie wait." She said desperately, making me stop by her door and turn back around. She looked really conflicted. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell I just..." she trailed off.
I sighed and went back to her bed to sit down. "Bella I want to help you, but I can't if you don't let me in." I pleaded.
Bella hung her head and began picking at her fingers, before looking back up at me. "I can't tell you." She finally said, making me sigh again. "He's never hurt me though I swear. It's something else but I just can't tell you Marnie." Bella said, her eyes pleading with me to drop it. I just stared at her for a moment until I decided to just nod my head.
"Are you going to be okay now?" I asked her. She nodded her head. "So... can I go back to bed now or are you going to start screaming again once you fall back to sleep?" I asked her, trying to be serious but smiling.
"Yes you can go back to bed. I'll be alright." She said, laughing a bit.
I gave her head a quick pat before I got up to go back to my room. "Nighty night." I said in a sing song voice.
