I tried very hard not to be too upset with my sister but I found it to be increasingly hard. Something was going on with her and I didn't like it, and I made it very clear.
I knew our dad knew something had happened between us but I think he was too reluctant to ask, afraid one of us might end up turning on him in some kind of crossfire.
Bella had been hanging out with Jacob lately, and very upfront of the fact that I was most definitely not invited, much to the confusion of Jacob. Bella had to be doing something she knew she shouldn't be doing. I knew my sister very well. What upset me the most though was that she actually thought that I would tell on her.
I finally asked my dad about getting ahold of Harry so that I could get in touch with Leah, something my dad was for some reason very happy about.
I was now on my way to La Push to Leah's house to finally see her. It had been about two weeks since my last creepy issue of feeling like I was being watched. It made me less paranoid but still cautious. It wasn't long before I made it to the Clearwater residence and soon I was walking up to the door. I knocked three times and only had to wait for a moment before a young boy opened the door. To my astonishment it was little Seth. Though like Jacob he wasn't so little anymore. He grinned at me like he had in fact remembered me, even though the last time I had seen him he had been like 8 or 9.
"Hey Marnie." He said, excitedly.
I smiled at him. "Hey Seth. How have you been? You've gotten so big." I said cooing, and pinching his cheek.
He swatted my hand away. "Not cool, I'm a man now." He said, puffing his chest out. I snorted.
Only seconds of him doing that he was pushed out of the way by Leah, who was smirking. "Get lost Seth." She said, now giving him a glare.
Seth pouted a bit, before looking back at me with a smile. "Good luck with her." He said, before he ran off.
Leah just shook her head. "Come on in." She said, inviting me in. "Sorry he's so annoying still." She said, kind of complaining.
I shrugged my shoulders. "It's fine. I have one too." I joked, though still mad at Bella. Leah smirked at that though.
She quickly led me to her room, making sure to be fast in case Seth tried to intercept us. Once both of us were in, she shut her door for a little bit of privacy. I went ahead and sat down on her bed. Leah and I had always been comfortable with one another. Though it had been years since we've seen or talked to each other, we still felt comfortable with one another's presence.
Leah took a seat in her computer chair, swirling it around a few times before stopping to look at me again. She bit her lip. Almost like she wanted to say something but was too scared to.
I raised my eyebrow. "Okay, just spill it." I said, leaning forward, placing my elbows on my knees.
"How's your sister?" She asked, almost hesitantly.
I frowned a bit confused before I remembered our fathers were best friends and gossiped like a couple of women. I shrugged my shoulders. "Fine I guess, she hasn't had a nightmare in almost a week. She's been hanging out with Jacob Black though for the last few weeks. They're doing something secretive but I'm not sure what. Bella is refusing to tell me." I said, rolling my eyes.
Leah raised an eyebrow. "You mean she hasn't told you about the dirt bikes she talked Jacob into repairing?" She asked.
My eyes widened. "The what?" I asked, shocked. So that's why she didn't want me around. She was being reckless and didn't want me to tell on her. I shook my head, while Leah nodded hers.
