It is December 22 and Yoongi is sitting on his bed with his laptop, watching Jimin's new song "Closer than this" and the accompanying video clip. He is proud of it and he thinks it is a beautiful song. Today marks exactly 3 months since he started his enlistment and it is almost two weeks since the other members also went. He had already saved up two days off in recent months and he had saved them to wave goodbye to the other members and to spend some time with his Jiminie.
Fuck, he misses him so much, Yoongi thinks as a tear slides down his cheek. He wipes it away quickly, he doesn't want to keep crying. Stay positive, talk to each other via chat as much as possible and then the year and a half will pass and they will see each other again. But it's so difficult, now with the holidays just around the corner. Normally they would get together and open presents together and eat delicious food. Hopefully they can call each other.
These were emotional days before the other members also started their enlistment. First there was the live of the other members that Sunday. Yoongi had already driven to Jimin's house and watched the live there. Then they all came to Jimin's to order food with Yoongi and chat for a while. When the other members left, Yoongi and Jimin snuggled together on the couch under a blanket, watching a Christmas movie and drinking hot chocolate together.
The next day was Namjoon and Teahyung's ceremony. Everyone gathers at the Hybe building and from there they go together to the military base. Namjoon and Teahyung's parents are also there and they chat with each other for a while and take photos. Also a last photo of the group and then it is time to go to the ceremony grounds. Yoongi and Jimin sit next to each other, secretly holding hands, fingers intertwined. Yoongi looks lovingly at Jimin and squeezes his hand. Jimin looks back, smiling.
After the speech it is time for Namjoon and Teahyung to go and they all say goodbye. One last hug and off they go, on their way to their adventure.
Jin, Hobi, Jungkook, Yoongi and Jimin say goodbye to each other. Jin will not be there the next day, but Hobi promises to also be present at Jungkook and Jimin's ceremony and with that in mind they go their separate ways.
Yoongi and Jimin go back to Jimin's apartment. Jimin still has to shave his hair and that is something he dreads the most. But Yoongi helps him and soon Jimin also has a short head. "You still look handsome, love," Yoongi says as he kisses Jimin's temple. Jimin says nothing and silently looks at himself in the mirror. "Come Minnie," Yoongi says softly. "You have to continue packing your bag and your parents will be at the door soon." Jimin nods and walks out of the bathroom to his bedroom and starts packing the last things. Meanwhile, Yoongi cleans up the bathroom.
The bell rings and Yoongi walks to the front door to open it. There are Jimin's parents and brother. "Hey Yoongi," calls Jimin's father, "how are you," he asks while giving Yoongi a hug. "Good," Yoongi says. He turns to greet Jimin's mother. She also gives him a hug and says "how nice to see you again, you look good". JiHyun also gives Yoongi a hug and they all walk further inside.
Jimin walks out of his bedroom and greets his parents and brother enthusiastically. "Are you ready boy?" his father asks. "Almost," Jimin says. "Just pack the last few things and then it's done." They decide to go to the living room and Jimin and Yoongi provide drinks and snacks. Later that evening they decide to order food and they all have a nice evening.
After Jimin's parents and brother go to their hotel, Jimin decides to go live one last time to say goodbye to Army and shows the world his short hair. He becomes emotional and with wet eyes he says goodbye to the fans.
When he walks back, he sees that the living room and kitchen are tidy and that Yoongi is sitting on his bed in his bedroom. Jimin also comes into the bedroom and also changes clothes and brushes his teeth. He walks to the bed and sits between Yoongi's legs and wraps his legs around Yoongi. Yoongi also wraps his legs around Jimin and they slide as close to each other as possible.
They look deep into each other's eyes and Yoongi raises his hand and holds it against Jimin's cheek. Jimin leans into the touch and closes his eyes. Yoongi sees a tear slide down his face and also feels tears welling up in his eyes.
Jimin opens his eyes and sees that Yoongi is also struggling and he leans in. He kisses Yoongi softly on the lips and Yoongi kisses him right back. It's a tender kiss. No lust, no sexual tension, but above all a lot of love.
They pull back and with their foreheads together, look into each other's eyes again. Those beautiful eyes that tell how much love they feel for each other, how much they love each other, how much they will miss each other, but that they will wait for each other.
Jimin pushes Yoongi back and lies down on his side next to him. Yoongi grabs the duvet and throws it over both of them, turning on his side to Jimin.
Jimin puts his arm around Yoongi and starts ruffling his hair with his hand. Yoongi closes his eyes and enjoys the moment. His hand rests on Jimin's waist and he gently rubs circles over his skin. Jimin leans in and kisses him on the lips. Yoongi kisses back, full of love.
"I love you," Yoongi says softly as he pulls back from the kiss. "I love you too," Jimin says and snuggles close to Yoongi. Yoongi kisses him on the head and they fall asleep together.
The next morning they get up on time and start their morning routine. They take a shower together to enjoy each other one last time. At the agreed time they gather again at the Hybe building and leave for the military base, where Jimin and Jungkook's parents are also.
Jimin and Yoongi say goodbye to each other in the car because they know they can't do this in public. They promise each other to text or call each other as much as possible and give each other a last kiss.
After the ceremony, Jimin and Jungkook say goodbye to their parents and brothers and to Hobi and Yoongi and go with the large group to camp.
Jimin and Jungkook's parents and brothers also say goodbye and walk to their cars. Yoongi watches until the group is gone and turns around. Hobi puts an arm around his shoulders.
"Come on hyung," Hobi says. "We're going to have a quick drink and then I have to go back to base." They walk to the car together. Yoongi looks back one more time. "Stay positive Yoongi, the future is going to be okay," he thinks.
