I had a single question in my mind,"Why?". But, it wasn't directed towards Maddison but towards Lucas.
"Why Lucas? Why didn't you tell her about your assumptions and get the things cleared out?" I asked him. His eyes snapped open,"You think I am assuming?". It was evident from his tone that he was hurt.
"No, What I mean is that there must be some misunderstanding and you guys should communi-" He didn't let me complete. "I saw her with my own fucking eyes, Katilyn" He shouted making me flinch. "Lucas, tell me everything, clearly." My voice was stern.
He nodded, "After that argument, about me cheating on her, we went to our homes. After about 4 hrs or so, I started feeding guilty. At that time, I was so angry. I had my trust issues, so I just couldn't help it."
I kept my hand on his shoulder to encourage him to continue. "So, I tried to call her but her phone was unreachable. I called her for continuous 15min but to no avail. I started to worry about her. So, without thinking twice, I took the car keys and drove to her house. But, what I saw there made my heart clench." He squeezed his eyes in pain, and tears poured out. At that moment, even my tears started to come out, seeing my friend this helpless was very painful to me as well. He continued, "I saw Aaron kissing her. She couldn't see me because her back was facing me and Aaron didn't notice me, apparently he was too busy kissing her. After a while, he pulled away and said to her that she should inform it to her family but she denied and said that she won't do it now but soon due to some family issues. He nodded and again kissed her, then he pushed the door open and went inside pushing her along while kissing. Then, soon enough t-the sound of m-moans and g-grunts came out loud." It was his final straw, he fell on to his knees and started sobbing loudly.
I also crouched down to his level and held his his hand, I made him lean towards me while I rubbed his back. I don't why but I just couldn't bring myself to believe that Maddison did this. Just one look at her and I can guarantee how truly she loves Lucas.
You know, I have problem, I don't do something thing easily but when I do, I do it completely, without any restrictions, whether it be trust, love, care or anything.
This time also, I am gonna do the same. I will trust Maddison. I know she can't do this. I will talk to her about this and get the things cleared.
I don't know for how long I comforted Lucy or how long he sobbed in my arms. But now, he had visibly calmed down. I looked down at him to find him his eyes closed and he looked in a deep sleep. I smiled.
Yet, I could say it wasn't a peaceful one. I need to sort this out. I can't see Lucy breaking down like this, also Maddison's state was no better. I slowly removed his loose strands of hair which were falling on his forehead. Then, I slowly shook him to wake him up and helped him to get on the bed in the private room attached to my office. He was already sleepy and exhausted, so I could soon hear the soft snores from him, I chuckled and went back to is my desk.
I took out my phone and texted Maddison to meet me at 'The Night club branch-3' at sharp 8pm, which was one of the many clubs Lucas owned. She instantly replied with a thumbs up emoji. I smiled, now the next step will have to wait until Lucas wakes up.
I worked by the evening until I heard soone shuffling sounds. I got an idea that Lucas must be awake. So, I made my towards the room, indeed he was finally awake after a the long 6 hour 'nap'. He was correcting the bedsheet, I greeted him and helped him. He was again back to his cocky mode. He's too good in hiding his pain.
"Lucy, I am gonna go to the 3rd branch of your club today" I told him," And we I want you there!" It had an ordering tone in it so he nodded "Come on, Kate, don't make it a habit to order around, who knows your boyfriend may leave you due to it!" He faked concern, not to forget, showed me his comically wide eyes.
"Oh really! And care to tell me who my boyfriend is?" I faked curiosity. He stood up, did a dramatic bow," Your one and only, the most handsome and cute person in the world, Lucas, at your service as your boyfriend !"
I laughed and rolled my eyes. "Now, come on Romeo, drop me and yourself to our respective homes. I don't wanna be late." "Fine! You never want to be with be me!" He pouted, folding his arms across his chest, he again sat on the bed. Well, he indeed looked too cute. I went towards him, and pinched both his cheeks.
"Lucy, I wanna go early so that I could spend more time with you in the club." I said, smirking internally. 'You will be spending time but not with me' I wanted to add but kept my shut.
"Really?" He asked happily. I nodded with enthusiasm. " Ok, then let's go!". He squeaked.
After that, we sat in his car, and reached home. I bid him bye and he did the same. The time was 5:30pm. Anne was already back from her college.
As soon as she saw me, she greeted me and then asked," Kat, how was day?". "Pretty eventful. How about yours?" I replied.
" Very ,very good," she said happily.
"Really, you sound too happy". I. smiled. "Umm... Actually..., today my crush came to school all in black and also he asked me to help in his assignments and said that he liked to spend time with me." She said dreamily. I couldn't help but chuckle, Anne and her obsession with 'men in black'.
I shook my head affectionately and spent some time with her.
At Around 6, I worked for Anne's birthday party guest list and invited them tomorrow at 8. Then, I texted Kyle to inform him to invite his business associates as well. I also checked if the decorations had arrived or not. Finally, I was satisfied by the party preparations.
It was half past 6. I went to get ready, I wore a simple, beautiful mid-thigh dress & did a little makeup and left my hair open with some curls at the end.

I was just giving my look a touch up when Lucas knocked on my door. I opened the door. "Kate, come, let's go!".
I grabbed my clutch and signalled him to lead the way. He went on the way and I followed him behind.
Well, I guess it's time to play Cupid. *winks*
