The rain hit the road with a rhythmic thrum. I adjusted my collar, it's all soaked now. The wet streets of the city reflected the harsh neon lights from the nearby buildings, an empty glow that mirrored the void inside me.

I wasn't here to admire the view.

I walked through the alley . It was a shortcut. In my world, there was no room for distractions, no time to waste on the beauty of a night painted by rain. My boots splashed through puddles, the sound echoing in the silence, marking my presence.

No one dared approach me, not with the reputation I'd earned. The world feared me, and I didn't care to change that. They didn't need to understand what I did, they only needed to know what would happen if they crossed me.

I had no time for softness, no patience for kindness.

Every word I spoke, every decision I made, was a calculation. Emotions are something which will be never in use in my life.

Loyalty, respect are things earned with blood. And I had spilled enough of it to fill rivers.

My name wasn't one that needed to be spoken in hushed tones, it was a curse on the lips of anyone who found themselves in my path.

The cold, bitter truth was that I liked it that way.

As I neared the entrance of the building ahead, I heard ting from my phone, I didn't bother looking at the screen until I entered the lobby. I clicked on the message, it's from my partner Park Jimin.

"It's done. You ready for the meeting?"

I smirked, the hint of a cruel smile tugging at my lips. Ready? I'd been ready the moment my eyes opened this morning.

The world never saw the storm until it hit. And once it did, there was no escape.

The elevator opened with a soft beep, revealing the dimly lit hallway of my office. I walked towards my office, my shoes making a soft tapping sound on the marble floor. I reached the door to my office, and pushed it open.

The room was big and wide. The walls were painted in a dark grey color. There was a huge table in the middle. It could easily fit around 15 chairs. The black curtains were pulled back, revealing a beautiful view of the city lights. There was a door in the corner, leading to my private living room.

I heard someone entering but I didn't have to turn to know who got inside as it's Jimin. No one other than Jimin is allowed to enter my office without my permission. He has been working with me for really long period now .

"You look like you've been thinking too much," he says while moving forward with a file in his hand.

"Thinking is what got us here," I replied, still not looking up. He paused, the weight of the file in his hand apparent. "You're not wrong about that," he says ,his voice steady, but there was an edge to it.
