Hyun Haneul was a young teen girl who lived in South Korea in an abode and nice apartment in a city with her two happily married parents Choi Yeong, the mother, and Hyun Ji, the father. They have been together since highschool and still are until now. They only have one kid which is Haneul. Their family was wealthy and happy. Everything was perfect. Well, almost everything. Haneul didn't really feel the spark in the family. She had nothing special. She had no friends. All she wants is at least one friend. Her wish was finally fulfilled when she bought a camera.

- Haneul and her mother Yeong were shopping in an old store near their apartment. Nobody really goes there and they were not getting that much money to provide for the store so they had a big sale before they closed. A good amount of people were there. Yeong wanted to shop for flower pots since she loves planting plants and flowers. Haneul was waiting while sitting on a chair in the corner. Haneul was visibly bored. She crossed her arms while waiting for her mom. Her mom insisted that Haneul could look at some stuff in the store. But what really is there to look at? There was mostly old stuff. Haneul was looking all around the store waiting for something to catch her eye. That is when she found a camera in the back of the store. She asked a worker if it was for sale and they replied that it has been used before but she can still buy it. Haneul nodded and thanked the worker. She came back to her mom and asked her to buy the camera for Haneul. Yeong didn't think much and agreed to buy it.

Her wish of having a friend was fulfilled when she bought that camera. But that's when everything goes wrong...

How would she get a friend from a camera?

A few months later. Haneul would bring her camera with her everywhere, even school. She was known as always having her camera on her hand and talking by herself. Haneul was always confused why people think she's weird.

- Haneul is in school and it's lunch break, she's eating her food with her friends. In her pov, she's laughing and talking with her friends. In another's pov, she's laughing and talking alone, but with her camera. “You guys are so funny!” Haneul says to her friends. “Thats what we do!” Minji replies. Her classmate is looking at her from afar, concerned. Why is she laughing by herself? She's always laughing with her camera, why? Haneul overhears the steps of her classmate coming and puts her camera away. Haneul's classmate comes and asks her who she's laughing with. “Im laughing with my friends.” Haneul replies. “Where?” the classmate replies. Haneul looks around her, left and right. But her friends are nowhere to be seen. “Oh, they're just shy so they went away.” Haneul replies, not thinking much about it. Haneul's classmate nods and walks away. Haneul tells her friends that they can come out now since her classmate is already away. But her friends are not coming. Haneul thought that maybe they had to go somewhere.

Haneul was always confused why people found her as a weird person who laughs and talks by herself. It was like that ever since she got her camera. But why? Haneul wonders.

Haneul arrives home and Yeong is cooking lunch for her. Ji is at work.  “Take a seat on the table.” Yeong says. Haneul agrees and puts her bag down to sit. While waiting for Yeong to finish cooking Haneul kept zoning out “Why do people think of me like that?”, “Why do my friends always go when I put my camera away?”, “Maybe they only want to be with me when I have my camera?” Haneul says in her mind. Yeong sees Haneul zoning out. “Haneul?” Yeong says Haneul finally snapped out of it and stopped zoning out. She apologized and continued to wait for Yeong. When Haneul and Yeong was eating, Haneul gained the urge to ask Yeong something. “Mom, why do people always say I'm weird ever since I got my camera?” “I don't know, maybe because you bring that camera everywhere?” Yeong replies. Haneul replies that she's really confused about it because ever since she got her camera she got her new friends and that they call themselves Newjeans. “Newjeans? Isn't that the South Korean girl group?” Yeong asks. Without thinking much, Haneul replies “Maybe they just call themselves Newjeans because they like the group.” “I see..” Yeong replies.
