"You okay?" I ask JJ with a smile
"I'm good" he says back to me

"I'm gonna miss him" I say sadly
"Yeah me too, but just think in two months we'll be down in Mexico with him only eating mangoes" JJ said putting a smile on my face.

Then my eyes drifted behind him to see pope and kie making out in the dock.

"Oh my god" I say quietly and In shock
"What?" He says confused and turns around to see them

Then all of the sudden more sirens came down the road. This was the actual end.

"Hey guys, I'm sorry to ruin the party, but uh we gotta go right now" JJ says getting their attention.

But it was too late. Soon the cars parked and we were surrounded by cops pointing guns at all of us. I slowly threw up my hands feeling terrified.

"We're too late he's gone, goddamnit" the head SBI agent yelled

"Bratcher have your guys stand down" shoupe yelled
As we kept our hands up

"Where the hell is he" shoupe yelled at the four of us but we stayed silent

"JJ" shoupe says "I see your living up to your name" he says trying to get something out of us. But I just scoffed at him

"Pope how about you? This isn't a fucking game, you can do the right thing now! Where'd he go" shoupe yelled in popes face

After all of us stayed silent shoupe had been fed up with us and decided to bring us down to their set up on which was by the water. They took us down in our individual cop cars so we could speak to one another.

The ride felt long since their set up was in on figure 8. It was quiet and agonizing all I could do was hope for John bs safety.

Night fell and the storm grew worse. I sat in the car watching the water droplets fall down the window feeling my body fill with nerves.

Once we got there we were met with loads of news outlets trying to get a juicy headline.

Shoupe walked us to a giant white tent and sat us in a row of chairs. Pope sat down then kie, then me, then finally JJ.

"Sit down don't move, we got a lot to talk about. Keep an eye on those kids" shoupe said to an officer as we sat in silence.

I could feel JJs hand intertwine with mine to help calm our nerves.

I'd usually give him a look with a small smile, but this time I couldn't take my eyes off all the cops or take my mind off the through of John b being out there in the storm.

We continued to sit in silence, and though we were silent we had a million things going through our heads.

I glance up to see shoupe and three other officers approach us. We stood up quickly and walked over to them.

Shoupe had a plain look on his face, but it didnt look good.

"Did you find them?" Pope asked

He took a moment to answer as we waited eagerly.

"No" shoupe said shaking his head.

"So they got away" I say with a slight smile
But shoupe didn't answer right away, making my heart sink and my eyes gloss over.

"We uh, we lost them" he said slowly "I'm sorry" he says as I shook my head "no" I say quietly

"You lost them?" Pope questions
"What do you mean you lost them? Like they're gone?" Pope continued sounding more angry.
"What are you talking about"

"They took an open boat into a tropical depression pope" shoupe said not sounding remorseful

"So they're dead?" Kie asks plainly
"We don't know" shoupe replies

"You drove them straight through the storm man" JJ yelled at shoupe

"Are you kidding me, come here" JJ yelled and started going at shoupe.

"JJ stop" I yelled knowing this wouldn't solve anything. This is when tears began to roll down my face.

"I'm gonna kill you, you bastard!" He continued yelling a shoupe as he got held back by a police officer.

The world went silent and I went numb. I could only hear muffled words coming from everyone.

As JJ got held back we held eye contact and tears fell down my cheeks. I glanced at pope who was also getting into it with shoupe.

Kie tried to get him to calm down and I glanced over to see pope and kies parents appear by the tent. I didn't know if my dad would show.

Then I saw him. Once he was under the tent he took of his hood and rushed over to me. I broke into a sob and ran over to him. I cried and cried into his arms. I had felt this pain before and I didn't know if I would overcome it again.

"He's gone" I say sobbing and looking at my dad.
"I'm sorry baby, I'm so sorry" he said hugging me closer.

After I had hugged my dad my mind went to JJ. He didn't have anyone right now. I pulled away for my dad to see JJ.

He was standing there looking at me with tears rushing down his face, and I knew I looked the exact same.

I ran over and melted into his arms. We sobbed, wishing we had hugged John b a little closer. And knowing that we could never have that time back.

It was over, we had truly lost everything.
