VIDEO CAMERA {Ni-ki}

[Eunseo]

He sat in front of her every maths lesson. She hated it, and she hated him. 

Not only did his tall frame completely block her view of the whiteboard, but his mathematical capability was unmatched. She had always been so used to being first, but now she didn't know what to do. He was her academic rival.

"Eunseo dear, can you answer this question here?"

Eunseo gleamed. It was her time to shine. Multiplying algebraic polynomials? Easy. Great, she knew this. Except... she couldn't remember how to solve this question?

"Shit," she muttered under her breath. It was all that giant's fault- she wasn't able to pay attention in class because of him.

"The answer is x(5 + 2y), Miss." Ni-ki's deep voice rang through the dead silent classroom, disrupting her thoughts.

"Correct, Ni-ki! Wonderful effort."

Eunseo heard a snicker from the seat in front of her. Scowling, she glared at the boy, ignoring the slight shake of his laughing shoulders. Angrily ripping a page out of her maths book, she wrote the words "dickhead" and scrunched it up into a wad of paper, chucking it at the boy's head. Instead of hitting Ni-ki however, it flew straight past his ear and towards the teacher, ricocheting off her chest.

Uh oh.

"Excuse you, Eunseo Lee! What did you just throw at me?" Miss. Park exclaimed, clearly annoyed. Eunseo gasped as she watched the teacher reach down to pick it up and slowly open the paper. Pure horror painted her face as she read it and immediately yelled, "EUNSEO LEE, lunchtime detention today!" 

Said girl wanted to melt to the ground and disappear. 

Ni-ki turned around and for a brief moment they made eye contact, his taunting eyes boring into her skin. Ignoring his smirk, she looked down and meekly replied, "Sorry miss."

"Behave yourself. Unlike you, there are students studying dutifully." Miss. Park smiled sweetly at Ni-ki. 

"Like Ni-ki here."

Eunseo fumed. That was it, she'd had enough. Rolling her eyes, she shut her mouth and tried to pay attention to class again.

It was lunchtime. Eunseo got herself a tray of food and made her way to her table.

 "Eunseo babyyy!" 

Eunseo turned around to see her best friend Mina running towards her. 

"Minaaa! I missed you soo much!" 

Her friend chuckled as she sat down beside her. "I heard you got a detention during maths because of Ni-ki. My poor girl, that would've been so funny to see." Eunseo elbowed her friend lightly. "Shut up, I literally hate his stupid face." 

Mina's giggling quieted down as she stared behind Eunseo.

"Who's stupid face?"

Eunseo jumped in her seat. She recognised this voice. Frowning, she turned around slowly and found herself face to face with Ni-ki, leaning down towards her. "None of your business. Why are you up in my personal space? Go do some algebra or something," She huffed. Instead of the rebuttal she was expecting, she heard a quiet laugh.

"I'm here to pick you up for detention. I got one today too, for sleeping in English."

Eunseo looked up at Ni-ki, unimpressed. "So? What does that have to do with me?" The boy laughed again, louder this time. "We're detention buddies!"

Without warning, he grabbed her wrist gently and pulled her up out of her seat. "C'mon!"

Confused, Eunseo followed without complaint. She didn't miss the teasing smile on Mina's face as she left.

"Oi! Let go of my arm." 

The boy only smirked slightly. "Don't wanna."

Eunseo had to jog slightly to catch up with Ni-ki's long strides. "Damn you and your long legs. Why do you walk so fast?"

Hearing that, Ni-ki started walking faster. 

"Let go of me you idiot!" Eunseo was practically running at this point. She pulled her arm out of his strong grip and watched as he tumbled forward, losing balance and falling over his own feet.

Eunseo laughed for the first time that day. "HAHA. You look like a newborn giraffe." 

Ni-ki looked up at her slowly, face full of mischief rather than the shame she had been hoping to see. "I'm gonna push you over," he stated matter of factly. 

Immediately, he jumped up and chased her.

"AAAUGH DON'T PUSH ME OVER." Eunseo yelled, running towards the detention room.

She could hear Ni-ki's ugly cackle erupt from behind her.

[Ni-ki]

Detention was boring. 

Ni-ki started at the clock as it ticked by slowly. He had finished filling out her reflection sheet, and and the teacher had left to get his lunch. Now he had nothing to do. Glancing across the room, he spotted Eunseo, who'd fallen asleep and was drooling on the desk. 

Ni-ki snickered. 

He wanted to film this on camera. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out an old digital camera, one that he took with him everywhere he went. It was his most treasured possession. Laughing under his breath, he zoomed in on Eunseo's sleeping face, cheek pressed onto her arms on the desk, making her look like squirrel with stuffed cheeks. He pressed record and stared at her for a little while through the camera. She was quite pretty now that he looked at her carefully. But he would rather die than tell her that. 

Suddenly realising he had zoned out, he look up to see Eunseo staring at him with wide eyes. 

"Were you filming me sleep? You pervert!" 

She looked so aggravated with drool on her chin and Ni-ki wouldn't help but laugh out loud and zoom in on her face even more. 

"Ni-ki! When I catch you Ni-ki!"

She got up from her seat and tried to snatch his camera from his hands. "Eunseo." Ni-ki said in a low voice. Confused, she stopped in her tracks and tilted her head. "What?"

"You have drool on your chin."

Eyes widening in embarrassment, she hurriedly looked away wiped her chin. Ni-ki was full on guffawing now. "Couldn't you have told me sooner?" Her eyes were glaring daggers at him.

"It's all memories you know," Ni-ki told her. "One day you'll look back and miss these days."

Eunseo scoffed. "Miss hanging out with a pervert who films people sleep? I hope not."

Ni-ki only shrugged at her sheepishly.  "Whatever you say."
