Chapter 1

Hazel's POV:

"Hazel, are you okay?" I hear my engineer say after I hit the barriers. "Nooo!" is the only thing I manage to say. I step out of the car as marshals come running towards me. I take off my helmet and throw it on the floor as I storm off.

"How could he do that? Why did he push me off the track? He knew how important this is to me. I was so close to winning the F2 championship and getting my F1 seat for next season. Well, I can kiss my F2 and my future F1 seat goodbye. Fuck, I am going to kill Charles Leclerc!'' I think as I enter the pitlane.

Brook is running towards me with a confused look. "Are you okay? What happened? You were so close," she asks with a worried tone. "I am fine. Didn't you see? He pushed me off. What a cunt. Why did he have to do that? He has a seat. Why did he have to take mine?" I say in an angry tone. Charles and I never had the best relationship, but I would never go so far. "Jealousy?" Brook questions. "Yeah, that could be. Still, I worked so hard and it was all for nothing." "I am sure you will get another opportunity with the talent you have," Brook assures me.

The F2 incident has been 3 year ago. Charles had a pretty good first season. He also signed with Ferrari for this season. Can't help but feel a little bit jealous.

I open the door to the conference room, barely being on time to my first team meeting. "Sorry that I am late," I say with all eyes on me. "We are still waiting on one last person, pick a seat," Bruno, the team principal, says. I sit down next to a girl who looks like she's in her early twenties.

Suddenly the door flings open and a young man with a lot of facial hair steps in. "I am late, I know, sorry," he says out of breath as he takes his seat. He looks at me and introduces himself in a rather slick manner. "I have never seen you here before. I am Pierre. Pierre Gasly, one of the drivers, and you must be...?" "Hazel Sinclair, your new team member," I reply. He just looks at me with a confused face. "Oh, I am the new driver who is replacing Esteban, for a while" I add. "A girl," he mumbled as he turned his head to Bruno.
