Jaeden Morgana Borden was born on November 4th, 1937, and it was the happiest day of Hilda Borden's life. Born of a line of prodigies, Jaeden was naturally intellectually advanced. At age 2 and a half, she was already reading at a 4th grade level. She was able to skip a few grades and started high school in 1944. She graduated high school in 1948 at age 11.

"I am so proud of you, Jae," Hilda said as she hugged her daughter after graduation, "how about you take a break from studying?"

"I never take a break from studying," Jae said confused, "studying is fun, especially reading."

"There's more to this world than studying," a scratchy voiced man who smelled of cigarettes said, he was Jae's father. He was a short man with a rugged beard and tan skin from being out in the sun. He wore a pair of swim trunks and a red Hawaiian shirt.

"Like what?" Jae asked.

Jae took a three year break from her studies to focus on being a kid. It was 1951, Hilda was getting ready to go to space. Jae was excited as her mom was.

"Can I go to space with you, mom?" Jae asked.

"I wish you could, baby, but there's no room for another person," Hilda said as she hugged Jae one last time.

The rocket launched. But by the time the rocket reached space, it blew up. Jae watched on as the rocket was destroyed in midair. She was devastated, she wouldn't speak for weeks soon after as not just her mother died that day, so did her dad of a heart attack.

A month and a half later, she broke her silence and started college, drowning herself in her studies as she did before. It was the one thing that made her happy. Every time she was offered a chance to go to space, she would decline. That was until 1955 where she finally decided to face her fears. At any cost.
