Steven Universe SF! AU Written in the Stars

Chapter 1

It was November 25 2023, and the main center of Little Homeschool was alive with festivity. The Crystal Gems, as well as a few other members of Team Aurora, were hosting a harvest festival for the gardening club for cultivating a wonderfully grown bounty of Earth fruits and vegetables over the last two semesters, as well as showing off some other non-edible plants the club had also grown. Applejack was set up at a small booth with her lead farmhoof assistant, Caramel, and gave out Sweet Apple Acres apple treats and cider for anyone who wanted it. The plant Stevens were walking around the event grounds and giving out little flower arrangements and accessories also made by the club to the event-goers. Peridot and the club members were always on their feet, making sure that everything was going accordingly and that everyone was having a good time. There were craft tables also set up, with coloring-page plant fact papers and fake flower decorations for event-goers to try making their own arrangements. Aquamarine was trying to put one of the decorations into a clay pot, but wasn't able to make it fit with all the other fake flowers she had in it. She looks over to Navy who was in the seat next to her, just cramming every pretty fake flower she could find into one tiny pot. But her ruby soldier strength was too much for the small pot, and with one final jab of a fake fern into the paper-padding at it's bottom, it shattered into shards of brown pottery, causing all the padding and fake flowers to scatter across the table, much to the shock and annoyance of the other creatures at the table. Navy lets out a disappointed whimper at seeing her "pretty potted plant" all in pieces. Aquamarine however, just rolled her eyes.

Bismuth: Well, I'd say this is goin' pretty well.

Steven nods and looks back out at the crowd of event-goers. He notices one group of gems with a couple of ailmaglicks and a cetstil with dark wings and hair using one of the cornhole sets that was on the grass and cheering when one of them got it into the hole. He smiles.

Steven: And the new ailmaglick and cetsil students seem to be enjoying themselves.

Biggs Jasper lets out a chuckle from the table next to them, who had Jasper, Snowflake, and Cherry Quartz also sitting there.

Biggs: I still can't believe that we now have other students from across the universe going here. For the longest time, I thought WE were the only other sapient lifeforms in the universe.

Snowflake: And now look at this place!

Snowflake sweeps an arm out towards the event grounds, making the team members at the other table smile even more.

Alex: And it'll only get better from here!

Steven nods, then feels something poke at his horns. He turns to see a small group of gem, cetsil, and ailmaglick students all gathered next to him, a look of wonder and excitement in their eyes. Steven gave a cautious smile, having a feeling that he knew why they were there.

Steven (Slowly): Can... Can I help you?

One of the ailmaglick students got a little closer to him, a look of concentration on her face.

Green Ailmaglick Girl (Pouty): Aw man, I can't really see your fangs... Think you can give us a bigger smile than that?

Steven didn't smile, he simply just sighed in exasperation. Yep, he had a feeling this was why so many students were suddenly crowding around him.

Alex: Hey, come on, leave him alone.

Cetsil boy: But we wanna see! How sharp are your horns?

Cetsil Girl: Can you show us your claws?!

Dark Blue Sapphire: What's the hardest material you can bite into without your teeth breaking?

Steven felt very uncomfortable with the onslaught of questions. Alex was about to speak up again, when Jasper stood up from her seat.
