Henry

"So tell me mom, why exactly did we move here?" Henry questioned as he looked around the small and isolated village in Ireland. "Do we need a reason to start anew?" His mother quickly responded back.

After his father had died of cancer just over two years ago now, his mother had impulsively decided it was time for them to leave the all too homey, Québec City. Henry had only started actually making friends (apart from his best friend James) in school, but that was all taken away by this impulse move.

"Come along now Henry, our new home is waiting for us!" Henry's mother happily beamed from outside of their new but used black car. Evidently he couldn't stay in the car forever, so he hesitantly took a step out the car. His mother had already emptied the trunk, their luggage waiting for him at the back of the car. The rest of their personal belongings would arrive later in the week.

Full of uncertainty Henry followed his mother inside the small grey house. "Henry dear, your room is the last room upstairs! You should start unpacking now." Henry huffed as he headed up the stairs with his luggage. Once upstairs he saw there were three doors. His bedroom was in the back and the bathroom right at the top of the stairs. Henry guessed the other door led to his mother's room. Not bothering to check, he goes straight to his new room.

The room was a decent size, already furnished with a small dresser and a  double bed. He put his luggage on his new bed and opened it. Taking out his cross, he set it on the bed. Then he started unpacking his clothes.

——Time Skip——

Once Henry was satisfied enough with where everything was, he headed back downstairs to go see his mother. "Have you already unpacked your clothes?" His mother asked, "yes mom, but do we have anything here that I could use to hang up my cross on the wall?"

"I'm not sure dear, check around, but pretty much all we have right now is our clothes and a few extra things."

Henry turned around and decided he could wait until the rest of their boxes were unpacked to put his cross up on the wall. At least he had his cross pendant, the same one his father had worn for so long.

"Oh and by the way Henry we will be heading out later to go have a late breakfast. As we don't have any food in the house at the moment. I'll go grocery shopping tomorrow." She ended with a cheerful smile.

"Alright mom, just call me when we'll head out." Henry started making his way back up to his new room. He'd have to start getting used to it.

Henry decided while he was waiting he would charge his computer as he would need it in the following days for homeschooling.

He decided to text his friend, but then remembered the five hour time difference which made him realize that it would be almost 5am in Québec. So he decided he would just text him later. Now he really had nothing to do.

But out of pure luck his mother called him down telling him they would start heading out to go eat.

Henry came down the stairs and put his shoes on once he arrived at the front door. "We won't need to use the car, I saw there was a little café only 5 minutes away!" His mother exclaimed happily.

"Alright that's fine, it'll be nice to walk around after the plane ride." Which Henry had slept through pretty much the whole way.

Once they arrived to the small white building with a big signed that said 'Holly'S', they entered. It smelled of freshly baked goods and coffee.

"Good morning!" Henry's mother was the first to speak. "Hello! Welcome to Holly'S!" The worker replied.

After giving out their orders, the woman told them they could go find a seat and that their order would be brought to them.

Henry's belly started rumbling at the thought of his croissant that would come soon.

"Hungry dear?" Asked his mother, "Yeah, starting to at least."

Once their order had made its way to the table Henry gave a quick prayer, thanking god for the food, they then began eating.

"Wow this is really good." Exclaimed Henry. His mother nodding her head in agreement.

They had token seats that were by the windows and by the front door, so when a good looking young man walked in, Henry glanced over right away. The man also quickly glanced over at Henry. The man was tall, with dark features and curly jet black hair, he was also evidently staring into Henry's eyes.

The man's eyes widening just enough so Henry saw before he quickly continued to the counter.

"Who is he?" Henry thought. "And why did he look at me like that?". He almost started getting uncomfortable just thinking about the man's grey eyes looking at him. Still feeling his eyes on him even after the man moved to a booth further into the café.

His mom finished eating and got up ready to leave, and Henry followed. Yet he still felt those eyes on him. For some reason he knew he would see them again.
