As the days drifted by, Amelia found herself ensnared in contemplation, her thoughts circling back incessantly to the windfall she had garnered from Jack. The juxtaposition of her actions, having manoeuvred through a debt-laden situation to pocket a substantial two hundred dollars, played on a loop in her mind.

Attempting to divert her attention, Amelia immersed herself in aiding Debbie with the daycare. Despite the magnitude of the financial gain she'd experienced, she sought solace in the mundane yet rewarding task of looking after children. Collaborating with Debbie, Ethel, and Emmy in the daycare venture, Amelia became an integral part of the childcare brigade.

The compensation, though modest at five dollars per child under her watch, accumulated as a testament to her efforts.

Every interaction with the children became a miniature endeavour, each earning contributing to her meagre but hard-earned five-dollar increment. In this patchwork of responsibility and financial hustle, Amelia grappled with a complex mix of emotions, the echoes of her earlier dealings with Jack contrasting starkly against the everyday activities in the daycare.

More cereal had fallen on the ground with kids being everyone inside of the Gallagher household this had to be the busiest the daycare had been. "No, we have a spill." Ethel had pointed out the obvious with none of the kids paying attention to her.

"Stop throwing food, Ankush," Debbie complained, with her being hit by cereal that was being thrown. "Stop. It's not funny, kid and Liam."

"I can do this feeding if you need a break," Ethel encouraged.

Amelia walked through the back door with an ice cream gallon in her hands being sent out to get something for them to eat. Once she had walked in, Liam started to cry the loudest. Debbie seemed that she was panicking about everything that was going on. Walking right past Amelia and slamming the door to the bathroom.

"I'll get Liam," Amelia pointed out knowing he was the most familiar with Amelia and Debbie. "Ethel just give them the ice cream, it should keep them quiet for a second." Before she had picked Liam up and held him, cradling the little boy who grabbed her finger sucking on it as she just let it happen since it was silencing him.

Holding and cradling Liam, Amelia had knocked on the bathroom door wanting to check on Debbie. "Emmy, get the door" She heard a knock at the door; with her sister putting down someone's kid inside of the playpen before rushing over to the door.

Debbie had opened the bathroom door revealing a smiling Amelia trying to comfort her. "Hey- Debs wh-" Looking at Debbie trying to cover up the rash that was forming on her right arm that was almost a bright red on her already pale skin.
