Aijiro walked into Akumi's room near his new one where all the boys and the baby slept. She was already awake, staring up at the ceiling with eyes that were too calm.
She still wore her burgundy and gold kimono she wore to the meeting, her hair still intricately placed in a bun.
"Akumi-sama?" Aijiro murmured in confusion. "You're still awake? It's already late."
Yellow eyes slid to lock on his pale eyes, making him shiver.
Akumi closed her eyes. "Sorry, I'm unwell," She muttered, putting a palm to her forehead. "Still have to adjust to Kokuun's presence. He loves solitude in the night, so I'm basically wide awake. Nothing terribly unusual for me, anyway."
"... I see." Aijiro said lowly. Akumi caged the Darkness so well he had forgotten the effects others immediately die from. For her to survive is a miracle, let alone without some effects in the beginning.
Aijiro stiffened up as he remembered what his purpose was. "If I may ask, have you been told of the after effects of harbouring Darkness?"
Akumi's eyes sharpened as the said beast spoke in her mindspace. "I will be. Go back to sleep, Aijiro. I can keep watch tonight. The night is the new day for the Mazoku, after all." She echoed the phrase she's heard continuously throughout her life.
"... Yes, Akumi-sama." The man immediately left without another word.
"I was about to tell you." Kokuun murmured in her mindspace.
"Go on."
"... You might have a few time periods of bloodlust. You'll likely have to satiate it by killing some. You weren't born with the bloodlust of the Mazoku, which is why you were made to be my vessel. If someone had a bunch of bloodlust they'd probably start wanting their own blood and maul themselves to death quickly with how much I have." He said inside her mind.
"I see. That's good if that's all, then."
"Not in your case."
"What...?"
Akumi's vision went black before she appeared in Kokuun's mindspace. She looked down to see blood pooled up to her ankles. The metallic smell nauseated her.
"Others maul themselves. Mazoku. Akuma. You're an intelligent one, so I think you understand what I'm getting at." Kokuun walked up to her, tilting his head.
